Ina Sotirova is an award-winning filmmaker and storyteller passionate about the world's diverse cultures, their unique traditions and expressions, and the people who make them come alive. Building on her solid background in journalism and photography, she started making films in 2011 and her debut short doc, freedom2dance, won the prestigious Du-Pont/Judy F. Crichton award for visual storytelling. Her fiction debut, the animated film, Agwe, part of the 2018 JAFTA Propella script-to-screen program, won second place for Best Caribbean Short Film at KingstOOn 2019 and was a Finalist for Best Short at Animae Caribe 2019. A citizen of the world born in Bulgaria, Ina lives in Kingston, Jamaica, where she also teaches at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.
