Originally from Fortaleza, Brazil, he moved to the USA in 1985 and pursued studies in political science with a focus on international relations and hospitality management at New York University. With a diverse background spanning the hotel, real estate, music, and literary industries, Alves played a pivotal role in establishing Brazilian music as a prominent presence in the New York club and concert scene. Venturing into literature, he co-authored "Unbound," his debut novel exploring the Inquisition in Portugal, alongside Paz-Bezerra, which also inspired the screenplay "Branca."
