The WWE budget cuts reportedly affected all departments and divisions this week, and the talent pool was no exception. Vince McMahon sent out a company-wide e-mail this week, stating that the round of layoffs was complete, but several Nxt stars weren’t fortunate enough to stick around and see that e-mail.
Slate Randall, Travis Tyler, Garrett Dylan, Mac Miles, and Dani Jackson were all released from their Nxt deals this week, as the company was in cost-cutting mode. Now, those former Nxt stars have sounded off on their releases via social media.
Sam Udell, who portrayed Travis Tyler tweeted “I was probably the first guy to get fired while wearing a pink fanny pack in some time. I learned a lot and am thankful for the experience.”
After tweeting the day prior that she was “living the dream,” Dani Jackson said “It’s always about being optimistic!!!” Jackson...

In a move that was expected following the underwhelming WWE Network subscription numbers were released yesterday, the WWE has cut several developmental talents.
Garret Dylan, Mac Miles, Slate Randall, Travis Tyler and Dani Jax were all released from their deals this week, as the WWE is in cost-cutting mode to offset the expenses incurred by the launch of the Network.
All of the talents were used sparingly, and were seen as expendable cuts, although former Nxt talents have already sounded off on the matter, voicing contrary opinions. Former WWE developmental wrestler Oliver Grey tweeted today “The reason the business is failing, Mojo Rawley is still employed whilst Slate Randal is released.” Randal had been a journeyman on the independent circuit, and also appeared on The Rock’s television program, “The Hero.”

Over the last few weeks, I have focused on the announce teams when it comes to the WWE’s broadcast Main Event and Nxt. This week will be no exception as we have the greatness of two Englishman behind the booth in Wade Barrett and William Regal. The United Kingdom definitely made a world of difference in how the product was presented on both programs. Let’s begin looking at this week’s edition of Main Event.
Just a few days away from Payback in Chicago, there was definitely a wind of change on commentary this week. The three-man booth of Ricardo Rodriguez, the Miz and John Matthews of the last few weeks was dropped (no surprise there) in favor of guest commentator Intercontinental champion, Wade Barrett alongside Josh Matthews.. And I have to say, Barrett definitely has a career of a color commentator if he wants to. The master...

Every week, it seems WWE’s Main Event and Nxt give fans solid action in the ring. However, this week the fans focus may gravitate what’s behind the announce table. We had some pretty eclectic pairs in the announce booth this week that really made the shows way more memorable than they should’ve been. This especially goes for this week’s Main Event from Edmonton, Alberta.
The show opens with the introduction of our new broadcast team for the Main Event for the foreseeable future. Our new squad is The Miz, Josh Matthews and Ricardo Rodriguez. Perhaps WWE finally realized that having Michael Cole on every broadcast was a little much. I know he’s the voice of WWE but he’s overexposed.
It’s interesting that they decided to give Rodriguez a shot at the announce table. I think he is a good talker, but in the right situations.
