You know it's a good horror movie -- or at least a properly revolting one -- when people faint while watching it, and that's just what happened at the Toronto Film Festival last night when "multiple audience members" passed out during the film's premiere screening (via The Hollywood Reporter). "An ambulance had to be called to the scene as the film became too much for a couple patrons," said the film's marketer Ryan Werner, who is having a great day. Lest you think this is merely a clever publicity ploy on the part of distributor Focus World, more than one attendee at last night's screening -- including Girls on Film co-host Alicia Malone -- corroborated the account on Twitter: Raw: super cool, grisly, fun, fresh, gross French horror by badass female filmmaker. Not for weak stomachs! #TIFF16 pic.twitter.com/IwndOPiO9t — Alicia Malone (@aliciamalone) September 13, 2016 Raw: the paramedics had to come to the theater,...

American Idol came to Portland, Oregon as auditions begin to near its end. There was an abundance of talent in this great city… much more talent than individuals making a mockery of themselves which was refreshing. While no one blew the roof off of the place, Portland did give us plenty to look forward to this season.
Idol has found their first guest appearance in Sara Bareilles if the phenomenal Brittany Ziks makes it to the finals. It would only be fitting for Fox and Bareilles to fulfill Ziks’ dream of singing a duet with the 2011 Grammy nominated artist. Another young beauty, 27 year old mother of two, Britnee Kellogg belted “You’re No Good.” Ths number may have been inspired by her real life experience of being left by her sleazy baseball player husband. It has been said that the best music comes from heartache. Who better to take on this number than Kellogg?...

We’ve finally found him!
Congratulations to American Idol reject Ben Harrison for having such hilarious genes!
My recap of the Portland auditions will be up shortly. Conan and Andy’s twisted little lovechild was pretty much the high point of the episode for me.
Update: Here’s my recap. What did you think?

On American Idol's first time in Portland, the show opened with the handy, dandy Contestant Cam. My friends tell me I shouldn't be as annoyed by this gimmick as I am, but it gives screen time to people I'll never see again and I'd rather watch more of the contestants who are going to Hollywood. Anyway, enough about that.
Ryan said that everyone in Portland has a story and a dream and that was clearly the theme of tonight's show. Here are the highlights:
"Tripster the Hipster," aka Brittany Zika, made an unforgettable entrance which prompted Steven to quip, punnily, "Did you fall for me"? Oh, Steven! Brittany told us the story of the time she sang a duet with Sara Bareilles and how that experience was her motivation for auditioning. She nearly yodeled which makes me think she should be singing Jewel. However, she had a decent voice...
