- Born in Vancouver, BC, Erin took drama classes throughout her high school years, and earned the top acting student award several years running. She won her first lead role outside of high school in a local theatre production at the age of 14.
Erin graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts (English major, Women's Studies minor). She graduated from Vancouver School of Theology in 1998 with a Master of Divinity; here she met and married Edward Cawley. Over the next ten years, they welcomed three children to the family, and lived across Canada: from Nova Scotia to Manitoba, and then back to BC. Erin renewed her interest in acting while in Manitoba, participating in small town theatre productions.
After moving to Vancouver Island in 2007, Erin began studying film acting at the Screen Actors Studio in Victoria. She started earning film credits working with local independent filmmakers. She was also on stage at the Victoria Fringe Festival for two years in a row, and later co-starred in "The Year My Mother Came Back" for Bema Productions. Erin continued to train through Spotlight Academy in Nanaimo, VADArts in Victoria, and with Jeb Beach in Vancouver. She participates in weekly cold reads over zoom with writers and actors in LA, and also meets locally with an in-person cold reading group hosted by screenwriter Sarah Nicole Faucher.
