Lucknow, June 18 (Ians) The official committee sent to Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia to probe the alleged heat stroke deaths in the eastern district has said that the 54 people who died were not heat-wave related deaths.
“Prima facie, these do not appear to be heatwave-related deaths because nearby districts facing similar conditions are not throwing up similar death figures. The initial symptoms were of chest pain, mostly which is not the first symptom for someone affected by a heatwave,” said senior government doctor A.K. Singh.
He also claimed that the deaths could be water-related.
“It will be investigated if the deaths were due to water or if there’s a different reason. The climate department will also come to check water samples,” he said.
Fifty-four people have died and around 400 hospitalised in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia in the last three days amid soaring temperatures in the district, with officials offering divergent explanations for the deaths.

Most roads in the city do not have pavements, and where pavements are available, the problem of encroachment remains unresolved.
A large number of foreign tourists who are used to walking long distances do not find Agra roads safe for walking.
"Not just rampaging vehicles, but dogs and stray animals are a huge nuisance," said a German tourist.
At least the Yamuna Kinara road along the river can have safe walking spaces from Taj Mahal to Water Works, "so that tourists can see all the grand Mughal monuments while walking in the evening or in the morning."
The pavement is already there, it needs to be cleared of encroachments by transport companies, and repaired at some points, said environmentalist Devashish Bhattacharya of the River Connect Campaign.

Lucknow, Jan 10 (Ians) Samajwadi Party (Sp) President Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that the health system in Uttar Pradesh had completely collapsed due to lack of administrative control of the Bjp government at a time when the state was in the grip of severe cold.
Akhilesh said in a statement that hospitals were no longer providing treatment but only giving consultation.
The Sp National Spokesperson, Rajendra Chaudhary, said,”People are fed up with this sick system. Hundreds of people have lost their lives.”
He alleged that the poor were on the streets and there was no arrangement for distribution of blankets. He also alleged that the state government was busy making “false claims and propaganda”.
The Sp spokesman added that the hospitals in Gorakhpur were in a dilapidated condition. The news of hundreds of deaths in Kanpur in a week was heart-wrenching.
The condition of other districts was also bad, the Sp alleged.

Lucknow, March 9: The double-meaning dialogues in Bhojpuri cinema would now be a thing of the past in the coming future. The artistes from the film industry themselves have become aware of this trend. This has been clarified by none other than celebrated Bhojpuri film actor Dinesh Lal Yadav popularly known as Nirahua.
While talking to Ians, Nirahua said that in the coming days, the double-meaning dialogues of Bhojpuri cinema would come to an end automatically.
Earlier, films were made catering to audiences watching movies at film theatres by adding peppy songs to make it a hit film. But now films are being made for the Over-the-top (Ott) and satellite rights platforms. The film would not be released until the UA certificate (unrestricted public exhibition subject to parental guidance for children below the age of twelve) is not given regarding satellite movie rights. Because of this, double-meaning dialogues would have to be done away with.
