Born in Marin County, CA, Philip was was kicked out of Theater School
for making "too many poop jokes" and subsequently found himself
immersed in athletics more strongly than the stage.
But by high school Philip was performing in local productions of "Hair"
and "Midsummer Night's Dream" while making documentaries and short
films. He attended the University of Southern California's film school
with a major in "Critical Studies", all the while writing and
performing in sketch troupes, plays and short films. A brief stint as
an editor reminded him he was not cut out for office work, and through
the encouragement of friends he began study at the Upright Citizens
Brigade.
Balancing time between modeling, commercial work and writing, Philip
resides in Los Angeles where he practices banjo, guitar, and writes a
comedy blog, Cliffs Notes For Songs, with his writing accomplice, Wil
Donegan. He studies at John Rosenfeld Studios.
