As the two powerhouse duos of this season's "The Amazing Race" -- Tanner and Josh versus Justin and Diana -- continue to fight it out, our predictions contest entrants remain divided on the fate of the cheerleaders, Tiffany and Krista. Our current predictions have them as the most likely to be eliminated this week with 7/5 odds. Yet we also have them in the middle of the pack to win the entire race at 11/1. Here is Sean Furfaro's recap of the Season Finale of Survivor Redemption Island.
I came in to this season quite skeptical, but after a strong start in the first three episodes, I became optimistic about how this season would go. However, after that drag race of a start, we settled into a marathon of mediocrity with an incredibly sub-par season. I won’t repeat all of the problems I had with this season, primarily the entire Redemption Island Twist, but let’s once again be thankful for Rob and Phillip for providing us with some entertainment for the past 14 weeks.
One quick note in advance of tonight’s Season Finale, and it’s a personal apology to regular reader Choirchick22, for whom I inadvertently spoiled the result of last week’s episode. In posting the link to my recap, I gave the result, which is something that I always try not to do.

"Survivor" lost one of its strongest women when Julie Wolfe was sent home from "Redemption Island." Even though she got emotional talking about her financial struggles, she tells Zap2it that she came home, found a church and is so happy and thankful she went on the show.
Are you glad you went on Survivor? Was it everything you hoped/expected it to be?
"I am glad that I went on Survivor and it was nothing at all what I hoped or expected it ot be. Like I said last night, I went there for one reason. It wasn't to make friends, I wasn't there to be on TV, I'm really kind of a private person. I went there for the money. My house is in foreclosure and I have some financial challenges. I went there with a cutthroat attitude, but by the third day, my whole strategy had just...

Show of hands: Who hooted and hollered with shock and delight during Tribal Council on Wednesday night’s episode of Survivor: Redemption Island? Okay, good. Glad to know I’m not the only one with a sadistic streak.
Seriously, though, this week’s highly entertaining showdown at Redemption Island Arena, subsequent merge/scramble/double-cross, and “d’oh!” blindside vote — which sent Matt back to his state of isolation without passing go, and without collecting a shred of respect from his former Ometepe tribemates — were all things of reality TV beauty. The last pillar of "Team Russell" fell this week on Survivor as spitfire Stephanie Valencia was sent home from Redemption Island. The 25-year-old waitress had been deemed "Little Parvati" by super-villain Russell Hantz, but unlike Parvati, Valencia did not make it to the finals with her mentor. Instead was sent packing after losing a match-game duel against "golden boy" Matt. Now home in Long Beach, Calif., Valencia tells People why she chose to align with a known target, what if felt like to burn her buff, and how she wishes the conditions in Nicaragua had been tougher! Did you know...

Krista Klumpp's CBS "Survivor" bio contains what ended up being a telling quote. Asked which "Survivor" contestant she's most like, Krista replied, "I thought I was most like Natalie White because we had such similar backgrounds, but I expect to play the game with a little more edge." When she gave that quote, the 25-year-old pharmaceutical rep had no way of knowing that she was going to find herself on a tribe with Russell Hantz, the man responsible for taking Natalie White to the Finals and ultimately responsible for her winning the million dollar prize. While hitching herself...

Survivor: Redemption Island castaway Krista Klumpp technically lasted until Episode 6, but many would say her fate was sealed weeks ago when ally (and series villain) Russell Hantz was booted from the game. Despite her close (and ultimately fatal) ties to Russell and her early paranoia about playing with him, Krista says she has no regrets about aligning with one of the competition's most infamous players. The 25-year-old pharmaceutical rep also talked with TVGuide.com about her close bond to Matt Elrod (and the impending drama that came with it), the real reason she thinks she was voted out before Stephanie [Valencia] and the tribe member she thinks already blew their best shot at the grand prize...

After a hot start, Zapatera's numbers are dwindling on "Survivor: Redemption Island." Krista Klumpp tells Zap2it she thinks it has a lot to do with throwing the challenge and getting rid of Russell.
Are you glad you did "Survivor," was it everything you expected or wanted it to be?
"Yes, I am very thankful for having the opportunity to be a part of this amazing experience. It was everything I expected and more. I don'' know if it was everything I wanted it to be, but that's because I'm out of the game. In 15 days out there, I experienced and put myself through more than I could ever imagine putting myself through in any other part of my life. So yeah, I'm very thankful I did it. I wish that things could've been different, but how ti happened was how it was supposed to happen."
Is there anything you wish you had done differently?...

The episode begins on Night 13 at Redemption Island. Krista wakes up Matt. She confesses that she is excited to meet him because he has such a positive attitude. They both think that God put them there on Ri. Though they share a common faith, Krista is going to give Matt a run for his money. For his part, Matt realizes she's a firecracker and means business.
The next morning at Zapatera, Steve finds it surprising that he received votes at the last Tribal Council. Stephanie tells him that the vote was nothing personal, but she just doesn't think he's a strong competitor. She confides to the camera that it is going to be hard to suck it up and be nice to these assholes, but she has to do it to stay alive. Steve...

Survivor: Redemption Island has been a delightfully treacherous affair this season, and Wednesday night’s episode proved no exception. After Zapatera suffered a crushing defeat in a launch-and-catch-the-ball challenge, David tried to sway members of his six-person alliance to turn on Sarita and replace her with Russell’s former main squeeze Stephanie (or “Stifinie,” as one Zapatera member spelled it). It seemed like a long shot, but Survivor’s clever editors peppered the episode with enough complaints about Sarita and her sore tooth — she’s “a drama queen princess,” said Julie; she’s “too fancy of a girl for this kind of game,...

Each week, Survivor host Jeff Probst answers a few questions about the most recent episode of Redemption Island.
David made a big argument about how keeping someone who can help in challenges is much more important than keeping someone you can trust, and while I don’t want to minimize the importance of going into a merge with numbers, haven’t we also seen on seasons like Tocantins and Samoa that a united smaller group is often more effective than a splintered larger one? What’s your take?

Boston Rob has proven himself a fantastic Survivor player this season. Beyond easily besting Russell, what he’s shown is the ability to adapt to any situation while figuring out how to keep the target off of his back. He’s in a great position in his tribe with a number of candidates whom his tribe mates would vote out before him.
So why then did Boston Rob once again jeopardize this position within the tribe by working so hard for the hidden immunity idol clue this week? He has the idol already, what value do these clues hold for him? All that can happen is that someone catches him trying to keep the clue to himself and suddenly he’s no longer the Boston Rob who leads Ometepe, he’s back to Boston Rob the legendary Survivor villain.

Tonight's episode kicked off with scenes from last week's episode when Krista got voted off,and sent to Redemption Island. Then they showed footage of Krista arriving at Redemption Island to meet Matt. She said she enjoyed spending time with him there, and they chatted all night. Next, they showed commentary footage for the Zapatera tribe . Stephanie told Steve she voted to send him home last week because he doesn't contribute that much physically. Steve revealed that she's going home next if they have to go to tribal counsel.

Stephanie makes a power move this episode, but does it work out? How are the numbers starting to affect the game? Our Round Table writers convened to discuss this and more after an action packed episode.
As always, we love to hear from our readers as well.
Who should Zapatera have kept, Krista or Stephanie?
Kyle Kalember: I don't know that it makes that much of a difference. From what footage we've been shown it seems like Stephanie is more of a plotter and could be slightly more dangerous. Perhaps since she is a slightly bigger threat they wanted her to face off against Matt with the best chance of going home.
Dan Forcella: These two are so similar that it really didn't matter that much, but Krista did most of her complaining in confessionals and Stephanie was her fantastically annoying self in front of the entire tribe, so I...

Boston Rob has what appears to be an unbreakable hold over the Ometepe tribe on the current season of Survivor: Redemption Island. In fact, the only scenario he can’t seem to manipulate is getting Phillip to put on some damn pants and cover up his appalling pink undies.
Still, I started getting nervous last week when the veteran player uncovered the hidden immunity idol and decided against sharing it with the core members of his alliance (Grant, Natalie, and Ashley).

The big development this week on Survivor was Stephanie effectively telling Boston Rob at Redemption Island arena that she and Krista would flip to the Ometepe side after a potential merge. Whether this was a savvy idea or not is certainly up for debate.
On one hand, what does Stephanie have to lose? As we found out later in the episode both she and Krista have virtually no chance of reconciliation with the six member alliance dominating their tribe. What if there’s some bizarre twist where Ometepe gets to pick two or three Zapatera members to join their tribe and vice versa? Boston Rob would know not to pick Krista and Stephanie because they’d ally with whatever Ometepes went to Zapatera.
On the other hand, the survivors continue to not to prove Boston Rob correct. For those who forget, Rob...

The episode opens on the night of Day 8 at Redemption Island. "Anyone home?" Russell playfully asks as he arrives after he was ousted at Tribal Council. Matt figured he'd see Russell sooner or later, but not as the first one voted off his tribe. Russell tells Matt that his tribe said Francesca won. Russell confides to the camera that he feels like crap and is mad as Hell that his idiot tribe voted him out. Russell admits that while Francesca would have been easier to "take out" during a duel, he still considers Matt to be a "rookie" and has no doubts that he can succeed and still win the competition. The next morning at Ometepe, the camp is awakened early by Phillip's insistence upon sweeping up around the camp. There is a lot happening on the latest episode of "Survivor: Redemption Island," including some unexpected emotion from Russell and some totally expected weirdness from Phillip.
Redemption Island
Russell arrives to find Matt there, who is totally surprised. Russell is hopping mad about his tribe throwing the challenge. When it comes to the duel, Ome sends Phillip/Kristina and Zap sends Ralph/Sarita.
Russel says if this were real life, he'd be rooting for Matt because Matt is a good guy. But it's "Survivor" and he wants to win. The duel is block-stacking on a platform so they will fall like dominoes and release a ball. There are trip wires attacked to the platform - if you hit them, the platform will wobble and your blocks will fall, so it's pretty delicate.
Matt thinks he's got it and he sets his blocks off, but he's short in one spot.

We finally have two castaways at Redemption Island, which makes this "Survivor" episode even more fun than the already-hilarious Phillip nonsense.
Redemption Island
Fran is shocked Matt is the one coming to Redemption Island. He is as well, saying he should not have trusted Boston Rob so quickly. They get tree mail in the morning about their Arena Duel, which sounds very Thunderdome. The tribes each get to draw stones to send two people to watch the duel (they can vote for two, but if they can't reach a unanimous decision, they draw stones. Both tribes have to do that). Steve/David go for Zap and Ashley/Andrea go for Ome.

The constructed Arena is pretty awesome, shouldn't expect anything less from this show. I hope those are real stones and not Styrofoam. The duel is using sticks/rope to make a long pole, which they use to reach keys.

We’ve witnessed a lot of despicable behavior on Survivor over the years, but I’m not exactly sure that shaking the hands of an opposing tribe’s members after their win in a challenge would qualify. Annoying? Maybe. Ill-advised? Yeah, definitely. But Boston Rob’s reaction to Matt’s gentlemanly move seemed a wee bit overzealous from where I was sitting.
Sometimes, though, you’ve got to make a power move early in the game, and sometimes you’ve got to justify said power move in a way that doesn’t leave you looking downright dastardly. And so Boston...

Did you miss last week's season premiere of Survivor: Redemption Island? Well, catch up with last week's recap.
Night. Day Three. Francesca arrives on Redemption Island (heretofore "Ri"), and says her mind is racing; she's not going to sleep tonight. In the darkness, she reads a note about her allotment of water and rice. She says Tribal Council was crazy thanks to Phillip flipping out. Francesca looks for flint, and fortunately she has some. She is actually happy to be on Ri because she thinks it is good for her game. She was friendly with everyone, but not in the majority alliance, so maybe she can come back later in the game when things have changed.
Ometepe arrives back at their beach after "one of the wildest Tribal Councils" Rob has ever seen. Kristina confides to the camera that she feels lucky she still has the Hidden Immunity Idol.

On the second episode of "Survivor: Redemption Island," Boston Rob switches tactics to take out a tribemate who is being a good sport. Hmph.
Ometepe
After her ouster, Francesca staggers off into the night to Redemption Island, where she finds her instructions about getting the basic provisions and then she settles down for the night. Meanwhile, Ome comes back from Tribal and Phillip takes Rob aside to say somethings from his heart. He also tells Rob that Rob "owns [his] vote." Yikes. Rob and his little cult of followers agree that Phillip is next to go.
The next morning, Phillip goes crab hunting with a spear. The other tribemates watch him and do a little "Crocodile Hunter" narration. It's pretty funny, but it also just makes me feel bad for Phillip. Of course, then he starts crying in a talking-head about wearing his country's uniform and serving and earning the...
