Chennai, Dec 28: Southern actress Nazriya Nazim considers upcoming Tamil romantic-drama "Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah" as very special because it was the first film that she signed in Tamil before making her debut in the industry with "Neram".
"I was in class eleven when I was signed for this film. It's a very special project because my director believed in me even before roping me in. I don't think any director would take the bold step of casting a newcomer in a big film," Nazriya told Ians.
The 19-year old had earlier this year, accused director A. Sarkunam of using a body double to shoot intimate scenes for the Tamil romantic-comedy.

Film: "Naiyaandi"; Cast: Dhanush, Nazriya, Soori, Saranya Ponvannan, Sreeman, Sathyan and Satish; Director: A. Sarkunam; Rating: *1/2
When two National Award winning artists, Dhanush and Sarkunam, are associated with a project expectations are bound to be high. But if you watch "Naiyaandi" with such high expectations you're likely to be disappointed.
It is one of those films that top actors claim they need to do to impress their mass following every now and then. Alas, after two back-to-back impressive performances in "Raanjhanaa" and "Maryan", Dhanush makes a fool of himself in this cliched romantic entertainer.
In this rural romantic tale, Dhanush plays Chinna Vandu, who falls head over heels for Vana Roja.

Chennai, Dec 20: Tamil teen crime thriller "Vazhakku En 18/9" was adjudged the winner of the special jury award at the 10th Chennai International Film Festival (Ciff) from the 12 Tamil films that competed.
"It's very unlikely to ignore such a wonderful film that explicitly captures the dark side of the mindset of today's youth without making room for obscenity. With all newcomers playing the title roles, it's not easy to make an engaging film," said director A. Sarkunam, who was one of the jury members, at the festival's closing ceremony.
The film, which is directed by Balaji Sakthivel, is about the effects of Mms scandals that play havoc on the lives of youngsters.
The other jury members include veteran Tamil actor.
