Roger Bourke White Jr. was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of
Roger Bourke White and Anne D. White, and nephew of famous Life
photographer Margaret Bourke-White. He was raised in Shaker Heights, a
Cleveland suburb, and attended Hawken School from which he graduated in
1966.
He served in the army for three years as an Air Traffic Controller, one of those years was in Vietnam during the height of the Vietnam War. His last year in the army was served in Dugway, Utah, where he fell in love with the stark scenery and friendly people of Utah.
Following his military service he graduated from MIT with a BS in Chemical Engineering. He returned to Utah and became a rocket scientist, working briefly on the Space Shuttle Booster.
There is a lot of wanderlust in Roger. He has visited all fifty states, twenty countries, and worked in five. He has wandered the high technology scene as well: He was with Novell as it started up and became a billion dollar company.
Roger is now a story teller. He has published ten books, blogs, and has written over thirty movie scripts.
