Michael Mideke attended Antioch College Ohio (Yellow Springs, Ohio) and was awarded a BA degree in 1966.
He made student movies during his undergrad college years, and worked closely with other Antioch filmmakers, including Michael Houghton '66, and Rick Patton '66.
Michael Mideke met Robert Wise (Academy Award winning director of "West Side Story" [1961] and also editor of "Citizen Kane" [1941]) when Robert Wise visited Antioch College Ohio and met with film students there during the 1965-66 school year.
Michael Mideke made several student films during his Antioch College Ohio years including one titled The Easter Parade (1963), shot partly in Chicago, Illinois in the downtown "Loop" area, and partly in a graveyard near Yellow Springs, Ohio (Mideke appeared in the graveyard scene himself). "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" was used for the music soundtrack. Tex (David) Allen, later a SAG-AFTRA actor, was the unpaid lead actor in this movie, playing the role of "Jesus in Chicago."
Mike Mideke and his wife, Elea (Klein) Mideke, traveled widely following his Antioch College undergraduate years, and settled in Benson, Arizona and Magdalena, New Mexico after 2007.
He continues to be active as a filmmaker into his 60's (written in 2013).
