Leighton Oosthuisen was born in South Africa in 1963.
At an early age he started working in the dog training world, eventually founding Canine Institute in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In 1988 he and his team trained a group of dogs that played the wolves in Howling IV. Team members included Richard Stubbs, Carol Anne Wright, Carol Loxton and others. He also appeared as a prison guard in Purgatory, with a German Shepherd called Bodger. With him was Richard Wright, with his German Shepherd.
In 1998 Leighton moved to to the United States, and settled in Cave Creek, Arizona.
He has worked on numerous commercials since.
He also founded PartnersThey are located in Cave Creek Arizona, as well as in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA.
