Lloyd Shellenberger is a former AFN reporter and Public Affairs Officer. He was also a former Psychological Operations Specialist with 42 years of experience. He worked on classified assignments for the military and the State Department while on active duty in Iraq between 2004-2009. Lloyd worked with the U.S. State Department, producing press packets on the mass graves of Iraq and CODEL visits from politicians and celebrities. His coverage involved former and current Presidents as well as military dignitaries, General Casey, General Petrius and former Secretary of State, Conda Liza Rice. In the years since, he has documented stories in Poland, Korea, Germany, and across the globe.

Lloyd is also an editor, full-time writer, published author, musician, and producer. All these skills combine to make him a well-rounded colleague on and off the set, with a plethora of life experiences to draw from. "Letters from Baghdad", "The Barracks," and the TV series "Benjamin Greene" are drawn from real-life missions, making the stories authentic and engaging. "Letters from Baghdad" was inspired by true events that Lloyd documented while working in Iraq.
Lloyd has a degree in Communications from Thomas Edison State College. He is also a graduate of the Defense Information School at Ft. Meade, MD. With more than forty years of government and military experience, he is well-suited to bring his insights about the Iraq and Afghanistan wars to life on the big screen. His war footage has appeared in many documentaries such as "Operation Homecoming" and "My Child, Mothers of War" and "The Barracks". "Operation Homecoming" and "My Child, Mothers of War" were both multiple award winners. In addition, he often collaborates with executive producers on various projects because of his battlefield expertise.
