Oprah Winfrey’s holiday weekend was filled with highs and lows, as her mom Vernita Lee died on Thursday, the same day the media mogul hosted a big Thanksgiving gathering at her Montecito, Calif. home.
For the fourth year in a row, chef Kenny Gilbert, owner of Gilbert’s Southern Kitchen & Bar, came to Winfrey’s house to help her prepare the turkeys. They had three smokers going outside and the former talk show host, 64, said in an Instagram video, “All I’m going to do at the end is, I’m going to add a little garnish.”

No one does Thanksgiving quite like celebrities. Nick Jonas flew all the way from New York City to Delhi, India, just to spend the holiday with his fiancée Priyanka Chopra. She shared a shot of herself nuzzling his neck on Instagram, writing, "Welcome home baby..." Later that day, she posted another picture of him seated at the head of her family's table. "Happy Thanksgiving," she wrote in the caption. "family.. forever.." Back in the United States, Oprah Winfrey turned to chef Kenny Gilbert for help in the kitchen. Directing and starring in her Instagram video, she turned to him and asked, "This is what? The fourth year you've come here? Four years in a row Chef Kenny has come...

Nobody does Thanksgiving quite like Oprah Winfrey.
The 63-year-old talk show host and Weight Watchers spokesperson hosted and epic Thanksgiving on Thursday, complete with four 22-lb. turkeys — two of which were smoked and all of which were marinated in cajun spices, chicken seasoning, and sage with roasted vegetables like celery and rutabaga.
“This is our Thanksgiving so we got to work the points however best we can,” she told fans on Instagram as she toured the lavish spread.
Not all of the turkeys were for the Own network creator and her guests, though they did plan on going through the majority of them.

On the heels of Kenny Gilbert's surprising ouster from 'Top Chef' last week and the general sense of "it should've been someone else" that went with it, last night's episode further rankled the cheftestants by putting them through the ringer with a double whammy of difficult challenges.
At the end, only six were left standing. Was the judges' decision deemed fairer this time around?
Read on to see who go the axe and decide for yourself.

I was reading blogs and fansites this morning and no one seems to think you should have been sent home. You agree? I was reading things and no, I don't think I should have been sent home either. I was on Eric Ripert's blog and he was saying Kenny was very organized and ran a very tight kitchen, but maybe he didn't have...
