Marcus Laurence Ross, a native of Chicago's south side, was born on
July 26, 1978. His love of basketball paved the way for him to attend
college at the prestigious, Savannah College of Art and Design in
Savannah, Georgia. Marcus received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in
Video/Film with a minor in Sound Design. While studying film, Marcus
found a mentor in Professor John Drop, who knew that Marcus had a
unique gift. Drop encouraged Ross to cultivate this special skill
through film.
Marcus has also written and directed films such as "My Way The Cazzie Russell Story," "Loves Last Straw," "Tissue Paper," Marcus also worked as an executive produced for short film "Scarlet Sage," and "Don't Blame The Lettuce." Mr. Ross also has worked as an Assistant Director and Executive Producer on short film "Mirror Image," which received notable recognition and was a 2002 Cannes Film Festival entry.
Ross has experienced success in working with major entertainers in the Hip Hop and Rap industry, such as Jim Jones (Ballin' Remix) 2006, Yo' Gottie (That's What's Up) 2006, Tupac, Ti and Ashanti (Pac's Life) 2006, S-Dub (Already Know) 2010, Jacob Latimore (Like Em All) 2010. Ross's work also includes developing and mixing soundtracks for various types of media. Some of his work to date includes voice-overs/ and soundtracks for "Strangely Familiar", "Spontaneous Creativity", "Lonnie's Cousin", and "Scarlet Sage" and most recently "At your Feet". Ross has also demonstrated his ability to compose outstanding tracks for local R&B, Hip Hop artist and local commercials. Ross has also demonstrated talents in front of the camera as an actor in "Prisoners of War" 2002.
After graduating SCAD, Marcus relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina where he began to lay the foundation for his own company. Working on all aspects of the film-making industry has allowed Ross and his vision to see a broad view of the requirements needed to complete a successful Project. Marcus strives to create cultivated entertainment through creative concepts and blaze a trail for young filmmakers and writers an outlet to showcase their creativity.
