"Tsvety" ("Flowers") is a pop-rock group founded in 1969 by Russian composer
Stas Namin. Although they were permitted to perform (even communists appreciate good music), because it had been inspired by the psychedelic American hippie movement of the late 1960's -- think "flower power" -- the name "Tsvety" was banned in the USSR for several years. During the ban, they were simply called "Gruppa Stasa Namina" ("Stas Namin's Group").
