Matthew Courtenay
- Producer
- Director
- Actor
Matthew learned the art of directing under the tutelage of Michael
Berry. His short film debut was Surprise Ending (2003), which was
quickly followed by Kickass Wonderbitch (2003). In 2004, Courtenay
collaborated with co-writers Mike Forward and Daniel Pannell on Prey.
Shot entirely during the summer of 2004, on limited schedule and
limited budget, the film hit a bottleneck when Matthew Courtenay, also
the editor, began work in Ft. McMurray, AB to pay off the film debts.
Finally, a year later, post-production was picked up once more, and
Prey was again offered a chance to breathe. Courtenay once again teamed
up with Forward and Pannell to pen Nest of Angels, the
highly-anticipated feature length sequel to Prey, filmed in September
of 2006. However, due to creative conflicts in the producing team, the
film has yet to see the light of day. Courtenay is still looking for
the magic.
