During the late 50's Carl could be found visiting the music stores in Washington, DC searching for the latest R&B recorda he would introduce in his long featured radio show, "Robby's Rhythm Rampage", so popular it was planned to move over to the local Dumont television station, WTTG (5) which on its premiere, proved to to be the end of that career, his long standing and faithful listeners, discovered he was White.
Next joining the staff of the local start-up motion picture company, "Norwood Studios", producing documentary films for the US Government, trade organizations, rising from "Unit Manager" to a full and accepted membership in the "Film Directors Guild"
to a new career, becoming a part of the National Broadcasting Company documentary film unit on assignment to the four corners of the world, a story best told in the book, "Into The Frey" (Tony Mascaro)
