Barbara Bird's documentary work deals with issues of social justice and
political consciousness-raising. Handmaidens (1995), and Album (2002)
appeared at "Women in the Director's Chair International Film Festival"
and "The American Film Institute National Video Festival in Los
Angeles". With an MFA in Radio/TV/Film from Northwestern University,
she is an associate professor of film at Penn State University.
