Gia Bathory
- Actor
Born December 30th of 1980 in Miami, Fl. during an unfortunate layover
on an International flight to Italy, Gianna "Gia" Bathory even started
life in a most dramatic fashion. In early childhood she studied various
subjects from Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics, Sumerian Cuneiform Script
to the works of Virginia Woolf, thus creating much of a stir in the
small town schools that she bounced between until she returned to New
Orleans in her teenage years.
Saturating herself in Lore, Mythos and Ancient History, she shed her literary love and intellectualism for the rough streets of the French Quarter. She became a talented and celebrated dancer and entertainer and honed her skills with her sister Adrian Daniels, embarking upon a career in the Quarter's time honored tradition, Burlesque. She studied a vast array of Classical Dance technique including Raqs Sharki (Bellydance), Rakasseh, Snake Dancing and many others.
Following the publication of her highly praised collection of poetry 'Eyes of the Abyss'in 2007 and the controversial 'The Trouble with the Pears', Bathory gradually worked her way into Theater and Film. Appearing in several Plays, productions and then finally, in 2009 she captivated audiences with a short, but mesmerizing performance as the Cthulhu Priestess in H.P. Lovecraft's 'Beyond the Wall of Sleep', produced and directed by the Award Winning Nathan Fisher. She starred alongside Full Moon Horror Queen Stacey Dixon and Troma Films founder and Indie film legend Lloyd Kaufman.
Gia resides in the U.S. and is working on various Films, Shows and Theater performance projects with her longtime friend and stylist, the brilliant Karson Kelley.
