“Worst Cooks in America” co-host and “Tournament of Champions” vet Darnell Ferguson is set to host a new Food Network and Discovery+ cooking competition that hopes to mediate food-related tensions in the chef community.
Premiering Feb. 7 at 9 p.m. Et, “Superchef Grudge Match” will see Darnell stage two different battles between chefs who have beefs with each other to finally bury the hatchet and win 10,000 cash, a prized knife from the losing chef and lifelong bragging rights over their food foe.
Per the official description for “Superchef Grudge Match,” “In the series premiere, Darnell welcomes Chefs Antonia Lofaso and Jet Tila to settle their ‘Tournament of Champions’ rivalry – the two were tied in every category, until Jet won a rematch in the finale by one point. Ree Drummond, who has parlayed her ranch lifestyle into a decade-long association with Food Network, will lead the new competition series “Big Bad Budget Battle,” which is produced by fellow food celebrity Guy Fieri and is slated to debut on the Warner Bros. Discovery outlet on Tuesday, August 9 at 10 p.m. eastern, the network announced Thursday. The series will also stream on Discovery+.
In each of six hour-long episodes, three home cooks must shop on a budget in Flavortown Market, and, armed only with a small amount of cash, must buy all the ingredients needed to make the an inexpensive and delicious dish. The contestant who proves to be the best cook and thriftiest shopper will take home the trophy and a year’s worth of groceries.

Marvel Entertainment is engaging its fans through a plethora of new web series. The company known for its stable of omnipotent superheroes has launched a slate of five new web series, which examine various topics within its ever-expanding universe.
At the center of Marvel's digital content expansion is Eat The Universe, a cooking series that will launch new episodes each Tuesday. Its host, Justin Warner, meets up with special guests to put together recipes inspired by specific superheroes. In the first episode, for example, he is joined by John Hodgman and Jean Grae, who assist him as he concocts a hot chicken dish inspired by the fiery X-Men character Phoenix and prepares eggs to look like Phoenix's stepson Cable.
