Public Enemy have released a new music video for “Grid,” their collaboration with Cypress Hill and George Clinton from their most recent album, What You Gonna Do When the Grid Goes Down?
Directed by David C. Snyder, the clip finds Chuck D and Flavor Flav embracing the post-apocalyptic vibes of the song as they perform the track in the desert, while Cypress Hill’s B-Real sends in his dispatch from an anonymous industrial zone. The video also incorporates footage from Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, and Clinton’s performance of the...

David C. Snyder's micro-budget piece of nihilism Dark of Winter is the kind of thing where you feel you can practically see the movie as the director had it set out in his head, along with all the discrepancies between that original vision and what actually ended up on screen. Honestly, that's not meant as some arrogant excuse for why the film didn't sit right - this morose little thriller has a fair few moments that should make it worth a watch for some, and Snyder demonstrates definite talent behind the camera. But every scene, sometimes every shot seems like an imperfect realisation of something far grander, or deeper. And what Snyder has managed to do with his limited resources isn't enough to sell that deeper...

A look at what's new on DVD today:
"Meskada" (2010)
Directed by Josh Sternfeld
Released by Anchor Bay Entertainment
When this thriller premiered at Tribeca this past spring, Alison Willmore wrote, "the second film from writer/director Josh Sternfeld ("Winter Solstice") has ambitions reaching beyond being a straightforward police procedural," though critics, including her, were mixed about the end result. Nick Stahl and Rachel Nichols star as small-town sleuths who investigate a botched home invasion case that claims the life of a young child in an affluent community and enflames class divisions when the main suspects are from the poorer community nearby. Grace Gummer, Meryl Streep's second daughter to go into the family profession, makes her film debut.
"Anywhere USA" (2008)
Directed by Chusy Haney-Jardine
Released by Cinevolve Studios
Winner of a Spirit of Independence prize at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, Chusy Haney-Jardine's collection of three comic vignettes involves a...

The Quiet Arrangement is the debut feature film from music video director, David C. Snyder. It co-stars Chuck D, front-man for Public Enemy (a group Snyder previously directed music videos for), and centers on a prominent lawyer who decides to take matters into his own hands, after his wife is kidnapped, but learns that things are not as they seem, further complicating matters.
“The inspiration for The Quiet Arrangement comes from such groundbreaking filmmakers as Quentin Tarantino, David Mamet, The Coen Brothers, and Michael Mann. I promised myself that I would follow in the footsteps of those legendary filmmakers, and The Quiet Arrangement is my first step to fulfilling that promise,” said Snyder.
The film played a handful of film festivals in 2009 and 2010, and is now available for sale on DVD via the film’s website Here. It’s not on Netflix nor Amazon.

It is sometimes difficult to review a film that took three attempts to finish, but occasionally there will be a nugget of gold if mined so let us take a look this 2009 release from director David C. Snyder called "The Quiet Arrangement." A film that is full of poor actors, little music, and without a consistent unifying theme each makes the film almost unwatchable while the clever use of the crime drama genre with the development of some interesting plot twists are the advantages of watching this film from beginning to end.
The film does seem to revolve around the hostage taking of an older man's young wife. However, the central character from the initial portion of the film is quickly killed and the movie seems to start again with another character. This changing of characters happens again and the film is hard to follow,...
