Newport-based hip hop collective Goldie Lookin Chain have posted a response to recent viral internet video 'Newport (Ymerodraeth State Of Mind)'. That track performed by Alex Warren and Terema Wainwright was devised by Mj Delaney and based on Jay-z and Alicia Keys's 'Empire State Of Mind'. It attracted over 2.5 million hits last month when it was uploaded to YouTube. Glc have now posted their own version of the hip-hop smash, mocking Delaney for her lack of Newport links and generic Welsh references in the rap. When Jay-z's "Empire State of Mind" found its way to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 last year, it opened itself up for something that every massive smash may have to deal with over the course of its chart life: The parody.
