Quirky indie hell, thy name is Family Weekend. Benjamin Epps's film is the very definition of affected cutie-pie whimsy and weirdness, charting the efforts of 16-year-old competitive jump-roper Emily (Olesya Rulin) to turn her parents "normal" by tying them up and putting them through a step-by-step rehabilitation course. The fundamental problem with this absurd plan is that dad Duncan (Matthew Modine) is a New Agey–artist cartoon, and mom Samantha (Kristin Chenoweth) is a cell-phone-obsessed-businesswoman caricature—in other words, grating make-believe characters about as prone to actual human behavior as your average ham sandwich. There's a dim-witted faux-homosexual older brother who goes by Thor (Eddie Hassell), a younger brother (Robbie Tucker) with a photographi...

Emily (Olesya Rulin) is a 16-year-old who is growing incredibly frustrated with her parents' lack of parenting skills. Her bread-winning mother, Samantha (Kristen Chenoweth), is a career-focused business executive who never turns off her work; while Emily's father, Duncan (Matthew Modine), is a painter who seems totally unflustered by the creative (and financial) rut that he has been stuck in for the last several years. Emily and her three siblings (Eddie Hassell, Robbie Tucker and Chloe Bridges) all have much different methods of attempting to earn their highly-distractable parents' attention, but nothing seems to work. Diretcor Benjamin Epps' Family Weekend takes place during a very crucial time for Emily. The film begins as Emily competes in a speed-jump-roping competition at her high school, which leads up to the speed-jump-roping regional finals the following day. Emily is totally dedicated to speed-jump-roping, so much so that most of her classmates mock and tease her about it.

ABC Has released a press release for October's capper episode of FlashForward "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps." There were quite a few promo-pics as well… But – Note to ABC: does every episode have to have some kind of conference shot? Old men in suits looking stoic? Sorry, no spires, Dominic Monaghan, or even any kangaroos, therefore these promo pics are… not notable.
In the FlashForward universe, John Kerry Won
