- A classically trained singer. Ms. Byron is a Spinto Soprano.
- Melanie is also a writer, she had her own column in the Source Magazine, called Island Hoppin'. and was also Editor in Chief of the Source Latino Magazine.
- Both her parents are doctors. Her father is a well known Cardiologist and President and Founder of the Deborah Hospital Foundation in Puerto Rico. Her mother is a Pediatrician.
- She has a younger sister, Natasha, who is a psychologist.
- She is of Spanish, British, French and Czechoslovakian descent.
- Her primary language is English but she speaks fluent Spanish.
- She was named after 'Melanie', the character played by Olivia de Havilland in the film 'Gone with the Wind'. Her mother says she felt the baby (Melanie Byron) kick for the first time, in the scene right where Melanie Hamilton gives birth to her child.
- She's into the paranormal and enjoys ghost hunting, even though she's afraid of the dark.
- She's very passionate about History, Archeology, and Quantum Physics.
- Her family are her heroes and James Dean is her inspiration.
- A while ago, she was diagnosed with cancer of the left vocal chord. This was of course devastating news for her because she was training as an Actress and as a Classical Singer. The doctors said that they didn't know whether or not she would be able to sing again. Being the strong person that she is, she told them that with faith on her side, she would sing again in no time. That is exactly what she did! Melanie is a cancer survivor and now sings better than ever. She helps others and inspires others that are suffering from this condition.
- Four of Melanie's biggest mentors were British Oscar winning Executive Producer, John Daly (III) , Benicio Del Toro's aunt and godmother Sarah Torres Peralta , famous Puerto Rican film Actress, Miriam Colon (I) , and famous Puerto Rican director Dean Zayas.
- She is a direct descendant of one of the most infamous pirates of the Caribbean, "El Pirata Cofresi". Cofresi's real last name was Kupferschen, from Austrian descent.
- While studying in London, she was taken under the wing of Miss World Puerto Rico, Wilnelia Merced and her husband Bruce Forsyth CBE. To this day, they remain very close friends and is like a god daughter to Wilnelia and Mrs. Forsyth's family.
