"He was an incredible husband and father to his 2-year-old daughter, Giselle. He was an inspiration and a mentor to so many. His love for his family and friends was immense." E! Holidays are a time for family, fun and, of course, food — which doesn't mean you have to throw all your hard work to the wayside. The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney, Season 4 winner Bill Germanakos and Couples contestant Nicole Brewer offer some tips to stay healthy during the holidays and beyond.
Treat Thanksgiving like any other day
It's easy to use any holiday — especially those that revolve around food — as a "cheat" day, so Germanakos suggests treating it as "just another day." Just because many people gain a few pounds during the holidays, "it does not give you a free lease to go ahead and ruin what you work so hard for all year long," he says. "It's a matter of taking some precautions and trying not to overdo it." Newlywed Brewer makes sure she doesn't deprive herself. "I definitely have a spoonful of everything so I can feel like I had Thanksgiving dinner,...

George Takei and Brad Altman
Last night, The Newlywed Game broke barriers by having George Takei and Brad Altman compete as the first same-sex couple in the show’s 43 year history. In a special celebrity edition, Brad and George competed against My Fair Brady stars Christopher Knight and Adrianne Curry as well as Damien Gurganius and Nicole Brewer from The Biggest Loser: Couples 2, with the winner earning $10,000 for the charity of their choice.
Unlike the show’s sponsor, eHarmony.com, the show was fully inclusive, giving Brad and George plenty of airtime and showing several kisses between the two. And while there were no references to “making whoopee,” the questions didn’t shy away from intimacy as the couples were asked everything from what kind of pillow talk they engage in to which food was their favorite aphrodisiac.

Amy and Marty Wolff aren't the only Big Losers to shed pounds and gain love. The second cycle of The Biggest Loser: Couples, which aired earlier this year, is celebrating a success story in more ways than one. The Red Team, also known as Nicole Brewer and Damien Gurganious, tied the knot Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Renaissance of Astoria in Queens, New York, E! News confirms. By the time of their nuptials, the pair, who met three years ago in a water aerobics class, had lost a combined total of more than 200 pounds since the beginning of their weighty run on the NBC reality show. Fellow Losers Carla Triplett, Jerry and Estella Hayes and Adam and Stacey Capers watched as the trim, 38-year-old stylist...

Nicole Brewer certainly had her highs and lows on The Biggest Loser campus: First, a twist Week 1 sent her packing. A few weeks later, when her fiancé and Couples partner, Damien, was eliminated, she missed out on her chance to return and compete. But working hard at home paid off and losing 87 pounds on her own helped her earn a spot back in the game, with immunity to boot. Unfortunately, the change of environment proved to be fatal when Nicole gained five pounds, lost her immunity privilege and was voted out once again. TVGuide.com checked in with the New Yorker (who's lost 107 pounds to date) to see why she gained weight and how it feels to prepare for her wedding as a fit bride-to-be.
TVGuide.com: What was it like re-joining the group, especially when they bombarded you about game-play?
Nicole Brewer: It was overwhelming. It was also very awkward.

Industrial designer Damien Gurganious has been eliminated from "The Biggest Loser" in the third week of the reality show. Through the judgment based on the total body mass that he has lost during the week and also voting from fellow contestants, Damien, whose partner Nicole Brewer is one of those sent home in the first week, is the second one out of the competition.
Damien was in the final two showdown with Joelle who earlier in the competition could not resist herself in the temptation challenge. Joelle's teammates felt that it was time for her to go but others like Blaine, Dane, Tara and Mandi thought otherwise and voted for Damien. It was then up to Dan since host Alison Sweeney had explained that if it were a tie then Damien will have to go because he had a lower percentage of weight loss at the weigh-in.

Damien Gurganious may have been voted off of "The Biggest Loser" this week, but he still plans to invite his teammates to his upcoming wedding to Nicole Brewer." "We actually decided we are going to have a giant round table cut up into a pie chart with pink, brown, etc. sitting at this one table. That will be 'The Biggest Loser' wedding party," Damien tells Et the morning after he received his walking papers from the TV show. In the interim since the episode was filmed, Damien, who weighed in at more than 370 pounds on week one, has lost 85 pounds. "My goal is a sexy 180," he jokes, "because that is when I will be getting married and there will be no more big-and-tall wedding suits for me." For viewers, it was a surprise that the 31-year-old industrial designer lost the vote to Joelle Gwynn. But Damien takes it in stride.
