Pack up the pom-poms in Buffalo, because the Bills will be playing without the support of their official cheerleaders this year. Stephanie Mateczun, whose company manages the Buffalo Jills cheerleading squad, said Thursday she has suspended operations through at least the end of the season. The decision was made two days after five former Jills filed a lawsuit complaining they worked hundreds of hours for free, and were subjected to groping and sexual comments. The civil action was filed in state Supreme Court and seeks unspecified back pay and legal fees. It names Mateczun's company, Stejon Productions Corp., the Bills,...

After a poor start, Fox pulled Sons of Tucson from the schedule. The network maintained that TV show was not cancelled. Well, it is now.
Sons of Tucson follows a sporting goods store clerk (Tyler Labine) who lives in his car. He's hired by three boys (Benjamin Stockham, Frank Dolce, and Matthew Levy) to play their father for a school meeting after their real dad goes to jail for banking fraud. In case of future emergencies, he moves into their tool shed. The series also features Sarayu Rao, Edwin Habacon, and Natalie Martinez.
The series got off to a poor start with just a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.47 million viewers. Subsequent episodes performed even worse, with number four attracting only a 1.4 rating in the demo and 3.13 million viewers.

Last week, Fox made the decision to pull their new Sunday night sitcom, Sons of Tucson, after just four airings. Several sites have reported that the show has been cancelled but in truth, it's on hiatus.

When it debuted last month, the ratings for Sons of Tucson weren't good and pretty much got worse every week. That's not a surprise to those behind the show since they believe it was airing in the wrong timeslot.

To no surprise, Fox has pulled Sons of Tucson after just four episodes have aired. With a track record of terrible ratings, it's most likely cancelled and leaving little hope for a second season. Interestingly, series star Tyler Labine seemed to have known the bad news was coming.
Sons of Tucson revolves around Ron Snuffkin (Labine), a sporting goods clerk who lives in his car and owes money to a loan shark. He's hired by three boys (Benjamin Stockham, Frank Dolce, and Matthew Levy) to play their father for a school meeting after their real dad goes to jail for banking fraud. Ever since the cancellation and final episode of the CW’s show Reaper I’ve been both looking forward to and dreading the premiere of the Fox sitcom Sons Of Tucson. There are two words, that when put together form a name, that are the reason for me looking forward to Sons Of Tucson and they are (or it is) Tyler Labine.
One of the great things about Reaper was Tyler Labine. His character, Sock, could have easily been mistaken early on as a Jack Black knockoff. As the show progressed, however, the writers found a solid tone for Sock that Labine was able to bring out naturally and it became something that I felt he really owned. It was the light and frivolous banter of Sock that made the more serious moments of the show easier to digest. After the second season of Reaper had wrapped word came out...

Sons of Tucson last night came with few surprises in terms of plot – we all deserve an award for consuming the regurgitated story of a debt-riddled loser protagonist who gets into a bombastic situation. But it's my pleasure to report that Tucson's characters (and actors) might be enough to save the show from getting a plot in the TV graveyard. Allow me to explain. First the basics: Three parent-less boys (dad's in prison for a white-collar crime and mom's been out of the picture for a while) need an adult to get them enrolled in school. After a thorough off-screen search for a suitable candidate,...

Chicago – Tyler Labine’s lead character on the new Fox sitcom “Sons of Tucson” is not exactly the same as his ‘Sock’ from the tragically canceled “Reaper” but the two could easily be brothers. They have so much in common in their style and delivery that one almost wishes this was a true “Reaper” spin-off just so Ray Wise could make a guest appearance in the future. At least then I’d tune again. Now I’m not so sure.

I’ve reviewed hundreds of new shows in my decade of covering television and rarely have I been more undecided on a sitcom after three episodes. The fact is that the crowded television marketplace dictates that indecision means death. With so many choices for your time, if you’re not hooked right away then you’re probably not coming back. It may not mean that “Sons of Tucson...

Many people were saddened when the comedy/sci-fi series Reaper was taken off the air. Mostly because it was a funny and ambitious show, but also because that meant we wouldn’t get any more of Tyler Labine reprising his role as “Sock.” It looks like that hole will finally be filled, as he’s playing a very similar character in the new Fox sitcom Sons of Tucson.
The show looks to bring in elements of some of America’s favorite family situation comedies. From a Fox press release:
In the tradition of “Malcolm in the Middle” and “The Bernie Mac Show,” Sons Of Tucson is a family comedy about three brothers who hire a charming, wayward schemer to stand in as their father when their real one goes to prison. What begins as a simple business relationship evolves into a family like no other.
Alongside Labine, the show stars Quarantine’s Benjamin Stockham,...

Fox has shared a 30-second promo of its new series "Sons of Tucson" that gives the background story of the whole comedy. Three young brothers find a dad-to-hire in a local sporting good store after meeting Ron Snuffkin who coincidentally needs money to pay his debts. Ron is in for a surprise when discovering how messy the boys' life is, literally.
The series premieres on March 14 at 8.30/7.30c. When the Gunderson boys Brandon, Gary and Robby hire Ron to pretend to be their father after their real father goes to prison, they find out that there's more to their "fake" dad than meets the eye. Ron has to enroll them in school, convince Robby's teacher to keep him in her class, sweet-talk the principal, locate mint-condition toy soldiers at his grandmother's house and avoid a thug who wants his money.

Fox has picked up comic book drama "Human Target" and single-camera comedy "Sons of Tucson" to series.
"Target," from Wbtv, DC Comics and Wonderland, emerged as an early front-runner and was the best-received pilot at the network's screenings last week.
Based on the DC Comics title, the show centers on Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), a mysterious freelancer who offers a unique form of security for hire: He assumes the identities of people in danger, becoming the "human target" on behalf of his clients.
Jackie Earle Haley and Chi McBride co-star in the project written by Jon Steinberg and directed by Simon West. The two exec produced the pilot with McG.
"Sons," from 20th TV and J2TV, also was an early favorite at the network.

In preparation for its upfront presentation next week, Fox picked up two new series Tuesday: the comic book drama "Human Target" and the single-camera comedy "Sons of Tucson." It also renewed the midseason drama "Lie to Me," tapping "The Shield" creator/executive producer Shawn Ryan as executive producer/showrunner.
Fox, which will be the first broadcast network to unveil its fall schedule to advertisers Monday, already has two new series in the can for the fall: the animated comedy "Cleveland" and the dramedy "Glee."
"Target," from Wbtv, DC Comics and Wonderland, emerged as an early front-runner at the network. The pilot, directed by Simon West, scored the highest marks at Fox's internal screenings last week.
