Netflix and Making Space have teamed on a new tutorial program to expand education and career access for current and aspiring graphic designers with disabilities interested in pursuing roles in the film and entertainment industry.
The streamer, alongside the talent acquisition and learning experience platform co-founded by Sophie Morgan and Keely Cat-Wells, co-developed the five-course tutorial centered on key art and poster design. Disabled artists, including those who are blind or low vision, chronically ill, Deaf or hard of hearing, and neurodivergent, will be taught essential elements in design such as concept, style and lighting, composition, typography, and color and mood.
“As someone who has navigated my career with dyslexia and [an] auditory processing disorder, I know how challenging it can be for disabled artists to break into the industry,” said Netflix Design Lead Andy Lerma. “Netflix has always empowered me to do my best work, and it’s an honor...

Having had proven success with launching such female-founded brands as Reese’s Book Club, Shine Away, The Home Edit and Fair Play, Hello Sunshine is now looking to use its golden touch to help more women content creators.
The Hello Sunshine Collective is an incubator that offers a customized mentorship experience that helps entrepreneurial women take their brands to the next level through amplifying their unique and personal narratives, using support across Hello Sunshine’s vast network of resources in content creation, marketing, business strategy, strategic partnerships and other advice from the company’s leadership.
“I often think of the lost stories of my grandmother’s and mother’s generation that weren’t told simply because of the lack of opportunities for women to create and distribute their art. These artists and entrepreneurs had such limited experiences and opportunities for expression during that time,” Hello Sunshine founder Reese Witherspoon said in a statement.

"America's Next Top Model" just wrapped up a season where all the models were 5-foot-7 or shorter, which in the fashion industry is considered a liability.
The short girls of "Antm" have nothing on the contestants of "Britain's Missing Top Model."
The show, which premieres Tuesday on BBC America (it aired in the U.K. last year), is a modeling competition in which all eight contestants have disabilities. Some of the models are missing limbs, others are deaf and one, Sophie Morgan, is paralyzed from the waist down. Here she is on the runway:
"Missing Top Model" says it wants to challenge ideas about beauty, in addition to giving one of the models a chance to break into the fashion world via a cover shoot with the British edition of Marie Claire. Also among the competitors is Debbie Van Der Puten, who lost her right arm in a bus accident...
