Rachel Bright was born as Rachel Louise Murphy on December 16, 1985 in Ilford, Essex, England. She is best known for playing the regular character Poppy Meadow in
EastEnders (1985) and has appeared in several other TV series and films, including
Doctors (2000),
Life Just Is (2012),
Silly Billy (2010) and the award-winning
Sometimes the Moon Is Velvet (2010).
Rachel will play the leading role of Jessica Slade in the forthcoming British cyber-crime thriller
Milk and Honey: The Movie (2018), alongside
Mark Wingett,
Claire King,
Vas Blackwood and
Jonno Davies.
In addition to her film and TV appearances, Rachel's theatre performances include a UK-wide tour as Julia in Agatha Christie's A Murder is Announced, Lucy in the critically-acclaimed Dracula at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2014 and Romy in Bus Stop Kisser at the Camden People's Theatre, London.
Rachel trained at the Birmingham School of Acting.
