- Was part of the SDSM&T Baja team that took 1st in the endurance race in Peoria, Illinois in 2008. The team captured 4th and 6th place. She had the opportunity to drive one of the acceleration runs for the car that ended up 4th.
- Plays the cello, guitar, and more interestingly, the bagpipes.
- Still does gymnastics, a sport she has done off and on since she was 5.
- Amanda enjoys competing in triathlons, and has had some success, even winning a few local super sprint events. Amanda also enjoys snowboarding, backpacking, and many other outdoor activities.
In addition to her many athletic endeavors, Amanda is working on becoming fluent in German and Russian, and she hopes to use her language skills to work as an engineer around the world. - Has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
- Has been riding horse since the tender age of 2.
- Is ambidextrous.
