Born in Colombia in 1984. Based in Berlin since 2003. He studied cinematography at the Film University in Babelsberg, Germany.
Winner of the German Cinematography Award 2020 in the feature film category for his work on Valley of Souls by Nicolas Rincón Gille. The film won the prestigious Etoile d'Or at Marrakech IFF. For Central Aiport THF by Karim Ainouz, he received the Ibero-American Film Award Fenix 2018 and was nominated for the IMAGO International Cinematography Award and the German Cinematography Award 2019. The film won the Amnesty International Award at the Berlinale Panorama 2018. Nardjes A., also by Ainouz premiered at the Berlinale Panorama 2020.
His two latest films, Mariner of the Mountains by Karim Ainouz and Amparo by Simón Mesa Soto, will world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2021, in the Official Selection and The Semaine de la Critique respectively.
Amparo is also his first film as producer.
