Seems John Abraham and Eros Internatonal have a bonafide hit on their hands because today Eros announced an opening weekend collection of Rs. 13.40 crore worldwide for Vicky Donor. The film has grossed over Rs. 11.40 crore in India (net collection: Rs. 7.93 crore) and Rs. 2 crores overseas. Director Shoojit Sircar’s light hearted take at the taboo attached to infertility and artificial insemination performed well at the box office with the film opening to strong reviews and audience reactions.
Produced by Eros International and Ja Entertainment, Vicky Donor is actor John Abraham’s first foray as a producer. The film released across 600 plus screens worldwide on 20th April 2012 and has done especially well in metros.
