Snapchat videos are designed to disappear after a set period of time, but some of the platform’s content deserves to live forever--and that’s where Slinger comes in. The new app, which launched at the beginning of 2016 and recently rolled out a new version, is co-founded by Snapchat star Chris Carmichael and branded as “a home for all your vertical videos.”
Slinger allows its users to download videos from apps like Snapchat and Periscope, thus saving them from permanent deletion. From there, the videos can be uploaded to Slinger, where they are collected in libraries that highlight individual creators and top trending videos.
There are many other apps that allow users to save their Snaps, but what makes Slinger unique is the sense of community it is looking to foster among its users. Carmichael, along with fellow co-founders Sharon Lourduraj and Gabe Rozenberg, is hoping to spotlight the Snapchat...

Jerome Jarre made a name for himself as one of the first people to acquire a large following on Vine, but in recent months, he's focused his efforts on a new platform: Snapchat. The 24-year-old Frenchman is part of a new wave that is building an online video community out of pictures and videos that disappear after a few seconds. Jarre, along with fellow Snapchatters Shaun McBride and Chris Carmichael, is the subject of a recent Time profile of the nascent Snapchat community. Some of the platform's top users, such as Jarre and Carmichael, originally established themselves on Vine. Others, like McBride, have built Snapchat audiences from scratch. From a content creator's standpoint, the appeal of Snapchat is not hard to see. The app is hugely popular with teens, who are drawn in by the app's main gimmick. Since Snapchat photos and videos disappear after a few seconds, the app encourages fast exchanges that,...

Though it's been retired since 1967, ocean liner Queen Mary has been a hotbed of paranormal activity over the years, crowned one of the top 10 most haunted places in America by Time Magazine in 2008. The perfect setting for a horror flick? You bet!
As reported by Variety, Ubiquity Studios is financing development and production of its first feature film, which will be set and filmed on the infamous Queen Mary.
"We’re calling it 'The Shining on a ship'," said Ubiquity CEO Chris Carmichael, who will exec produce along with Connie Jordan. Brett Tomberlin of Ubiquity Studios will produce along with Andrew Trapani and Brian Gilbert of Nine/8 Entertainment.
The untitled project will be written by Gary Dauberman, and shooting is set to begin in the spring of 2014.
The Queen Mary first sailed in 1936 and was the Cunard Line’s flagship until being commissioned as an allied troop transport following the outbreak of World War II.

Before you begin reading, make sure to remember these are based on the five-day weekend... not the three-day. That said, it was a close race at the top for the three-day as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 battled it out with Disney's Tangled, all of which I discuss below... Let's get to it. Laremy predicted the #1 movie correctly 4 Weeks In A Row Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I Harry Potter managed to hold on, but not by much as the holiday weekend newcomer, Tangled, hung tough over the entire five days, which is really saying something. With Potter's estimated $76.3 million for the five-day weekend it brings its domestic total to $220.3 million.
Potter's three-day tally was $50.3 million, for a 59% drop, but that's to be expected for a film that opened with numbers placing it as one of the top ten openers of all-time.
