- Consultant and on-screen interviewee for recent Warrior Women series (Grace O'Malley) for Discovery Channel.
- Enjoys golf, tennis and walks in the country. She is also a self-confessed television sports addict.
- She has written extensively and lectured in countries including Ireland, America, Jamaica and Britain.
- She has an MA in History from the National University of Ireland.
- Her husband Tony Ryan is managing director of a shipping company, Orion Shipping, and is also a bloodstock breeder.

- Alongside Grace O'Malley, she is also developing several other screenplays: "Rathdown Lottery" aka "Bullshit" (an Irish comedy set in the 1960s) with the assistance of the Irish Film Board; "Ranji: Maharajah of Connemara" was developed with the assistance of the Irish Film Board and is presently in development with Four Provinces Films (Redmond Morris). Two further screenplays (an original drama and an original comedy) are presently being read by an Irish production company. (January 2008)
