2022 for the Hindi Film Industry (or popularly known as “Bollywood”) hasn’t been much of a memorable year either in terms of commercial success or when it comes to innovative films, and the post-pandemic effect cannot be ignored. Furthermore, the sorry state of the Indian economy and market also did not help as the masses faced terrible losses during the pandemic, and the film viewing habit cannot be viewed in isolation. This was only exacerbated by the high exposure to the Ott platforms for some sections of society. Yet there were a handful of exciting films that made this bland year memorable in the context of Hindi films. This list will consider films that marked their theatrical release in India in 2022 and will also include direct digital releases or things like Netflix originals. So, here are the top 10 Bollywood films of 2022 (ranked):

Mumbai, Feb 26: Bollywood buffs are in for a lot of fresh pairs on screen this year. After the nearly complete no-show in 2020, many films set for release this year feature actors who have never shared the screen before.
Casting director and filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra says that seeing different actors pair up on screen for the first time is always a treat. "People love to see anything that is out of the box. So this is why they love it when new actors work together. Also, actors, too, are experimenting and they love to try out something new. It gives a very fresh look on screen. If you team up actors who have worked with each other before, you feel like they have been seen together so many times," says Chhabra.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh adds that this kind of pairing also brings in the numbers. "People are excited to see fresh pairings on screen.

Mumbai, Feb 24: Bollywood might have had a slow run last year with lockdown prompting total closure of cinema halls through most of 2020, but the industry sure has plans to bounce back with multiple big-ticket films over the next months. A large chunk of these are sequels.
Sequels come with the advantage of a ready fan base, because fans of the earlier film or films in the series hope to see what happens next in the franchise. That, in itself, can be a huge advantage for any filmmaker, at a time Bollywood is going all out to woo the crowds back to the theatres.
"Sequels have always worked as they have a big advantage of coming after a super successful film. The films already enjoy popularity and many people go to watch them. Rohit Shetty has been very lucky that way that most of the sequels of his films have...

For all those who follow Rajkummar Rao on social media were taken by surprise recently with the actor’s new beefed-up look. It came as a surprise because they haven’t seen the versatile actor sporting such an avatar ever!
The ace actor is in the process of undergoing a physical transformation, as he has started the prep work to get into the skin of yet another striking role of a cop in Junglee Pictures’ highly-anticipated film Badhaai Do, also featuring Bhumi Pednekar as a Pt teacher. Well, apparantely Rajkummar Rao played a Pt teacher in his last release Chhalaang with Nushrat Bharucha.
It’s learnt that Rajkummar has been training rigorously since the past couple of months to get into the skin of a tough cop at a Mahila Police Thana, as the film is slated to go on floors in January next year. Sources suggest that the actor...

The actress shared an update on Instagram Story. She posted a selfie in the get-up of a Pt teacher and wrote, "Day 1 #BadhaiDo Prep Begins".
The film is the second instalment in the "Badhaai Ho" franchise. Rajkummar will be seen playing the role of a Delhi cop, who is the only male police officer in a mahila thana.
"I have played many different roles previously in my films but my character in 'Badhaai Do' is truly special. I loved the script since the first narration as the subject is very relevant and is packaged in the most entertaining way. Since this is the first time I will be working with Rajkummar, I am super excited as we begin our shoot soon. This sex comedy’s lead is creepy and cringeworthy, but at least the film manages to take a small step away from the genre’s usual crass misogyny
Mandar Ponkshe (Gulshan Devaiah), this sex comedy’s eponymous hunter (with extra Rs thrown in for the sheer joy of rolling them off one’s tongue), is single and pushing 40, and much to the consternation of his largely married friends, takes the opportunity to have sex wherever he finds it. Entirely unremarkable in the looks and charm department and employing a scattershot approach to seduction, Mandar is less Don Juan and more Woody Allen. But while Allen’s persona made himself endearing by botching things, Mandar makes us wince. And by being 20 years his targets’ senior by the end of the film, he’s a fully fledged creep.
But creeps have feelings too. This is Harshavardhan Kulkarni’s feature debut and even with its flaws,...

After playing the villain in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ramleela, Gulshan Devaiah will now be seen in a common man's lustful journey in Hunterrr.
On being asked about the movie poster ban he said, "Yeah, the poster has been banned. I don't like it either because my nipples are visible. I'm a little embarrassed about that."
Answering why he was embarrassed, he said, "I wish I had done a few more bench presses. But anyway I am playing a very ordinary guy who is travelling in a local train. That's why my body also had to look average."
"So being an actor I'm in a little vain. I looked at the poster and I was like- Shit yaar mere packs gir rahe hai, sab tight hota tha na yaar. That's why I would ban it because I'm not looking cool in it," he added.

What would a Hunterrr be without the women in his life! A new video featurette for the film Hunterrr has just been released, which shifts the focus to the three women in Mandar Ponkshe aka Gulshan Devaiah’s life: Trupti (Radhika Apte), Jyotsna (Sai Tamhankar) and Parul (Veera Saxena).
The video clearly suggests that if Mandar is a ‘Hunterrr’, the three women aren’t simply his ‘prey’ either. As Director Harshavardhan Kulkarni says: “All the 3 women are not Hunterrr ke Shikaar, the are Shikaaris in their own right!”
Actress Radhika Apte (who just received tremendous acclaim for her role in Badlapur) plays the free-spirited, independent Trupti, who she describes as a character she could instantly relate to: “Every woman is a strong character, has a history and story… And she knows what he is doing!”
The makers have also released three unique ‘Trump Card’ style posters titled ‘Hunterrr Ke Nishaane...
