Frank Caronna

Frank is a former professional surfer and competed on the U.S. pro tour
from 1990-1998. He was born in Torrance and went to elementary school
in Lynwood/Compton. He was raised by his mother and grandparents along
with his older brother. He later moved to Lakewood and attended Mayfair
High school where he studied art and played baseball, basketball and
surfed competitively. .
After high school Frank moved to Huntington Beach to train for a professional career in surfing where his highest ranking was 48th on the PSAA Pro Tour. While on tour Frank began teaching surf lessons to make extra money and also coached a few younger talented surfers that were sponsored by different surf companies. Frank dropped of the tour in 1998 to focus on teaching and coaching surfers and built his own business called Natural Surf Technique. Frank was introduced to acting through surfing in 1996 where he was hired as a stunt double and consultant for an episodic series called "High Tide" for Stu Segall Productions. The series also gave Frank his first television acting experience and played a bartender on a couple episodes. Frank moved to Studio City in 1998 where he attended acting classes while building his reputation as one of the worlds top private surf instructors and has catered to many celebrities and Hollywood CEOs. His passion to teach surfing and acting led him to where he is now in Santa Monica teaching and coaching surfers privately of all levels in Santa Monica/Costa Rica and rarely has time to audition, but will occasional get auditions if the timing is right. His last acting job was a small role in a 2011 "Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer". Sometimes a new road needs to open to get you to the right destination in life.
