James D. Morris(II)
- Producer
James D. K. Morris, p.k.a, DJ FINK, had a unique middle-class upbringing that allowed him to exist in and around all cultures. James' mother was born in Liberia, West Africa. James' father was born in Waukegan Illinois, with roots in Mississippi. His father's family migrated to Waukegan in 1942.
It was the mixture of Liberia and Waukegan that afforded James the ability to translate thru the heredities of culture.
James received his early education from kindergarten through 8th grade at the Mother of God Catholic School, then North Chicago High School, and finally went to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. That educational mix within the makeup of the diverse financial spectrums of class, helped James develop market understanding within multiple-demographics.
Always wanting to please and make people laugh led James to toss his hat into the comedy arena joining the North Chicago High School's Forensics team led by his mentor and father-like teacher, Duane Kovacek. It was Mr. Kovacek's guidance that gave James the confidence and direction to become one of the funniest high school comedians in the country placing sixth in the State of Illinois and then going on to win the Bradley University summer forensics camp in Comedy in 1986. James continued to do standup comedy in college winning the Doritos Comedy Competition and again being offered an opportunity to various comedy tours opening for some of the biggest names. Competing with the likes of Vince Vaughn, and others who have influenced comedy in Hollywood, James knew that he had what it takes to make it. During his win at Bradley University James was offered a chance at Second City.
Mr. Kovacek also pushed James into Radio and Television. That push would lay the foundation to James' alter ego ... DJ FINK.
DJ FINK would become a bi-coastal DJ that also created the television show ClubbinTV. ClubbinTV would go on to air nationwide in 108 million households per week on WGN, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, THE CW, DISH NETWORK, and DIRECT TV. ClubbinTV won the 2001 Billboard Award and the 2007 Truth Award, receiving several nomination opportunities and qualification for Emmy Entry.
On June 13, 2009 the FCC made full power television stations switch to digital formats. When this happened, James figured out that if one master the quality of your content, then one could become your own worldwide television station.
Realizing that the Diaspora was not represented with a positive world view, James launched a global television network entitled, the Digital Entertainment Club (DEC).
The Digital Entertainment Club TV Network (DECTV Network and a.k.a. DECTV.TV) has become a heavy trafficked website, app, and engagement marketing platform where independent producers can air their completed projects worldwide to an audience that is looking for the opportunity of new and exciting content without heavy-handed censorship.
The DECTV Network is a cutting-edge digital network. The DECTV Network's programming is developed to entertain, educate, and inspire audiences around the world.
DECTV.TV delivers content that universally speaks to the changing lifestyles of audiences everywhere. The DECTV Network's signature content is live-streaming music concerts that give members an up close and personal experience with the celebrities they want to see.
While doubters questioned the need for an Urban focused digital network at its inception, the Television industry and industry insiders alike have rewarded DECTV.TV with praise.
In 2020-2021 DECTV.TV was nominated twice worldwide for Television APP of the year in London.
DECTV.TV has also won 11 awards for best live stream, best branded app, and best social media influence, and 2 for best podcast for the Digimix DJ Syndicated Radio and Mixshow.
James was also Nominated for an NAACP Image award as an Executive Producer for the film Desert Bayou which appeared in movie theaters in 2007.
Today, James continues to upgrade and enhance the DECTV Network, utilizing the Network to reach of over 1 billion households globally. The DECTV Network can be seen on all major APPS, OTT Networks, and the website at DECTV.TV.
James has beautiful children and continues to provide comfort for his mother who has taken ill with cancer and Alzheimer's. His father also had cancer and died in 2002, but during his lifetime instilled drive, determination, and the willingness to bounce back no matter what the situation.
