While trilogies have found it hard to end things on a high note, things are quite the contrary in the case of the second film in most iconic trilogies, which often turns out the best among the bunch. And similar might be the case for Dune too, as Part Two improves upon almost every aspect of its predecessor, which might be a difficult threshold to surpass for the potential threequel.
But like every other media, Dune 2 isn’t immune to criticisms, as despite fans being in awe of its visuals, direction, acting, and score, many were let down by Christopher Walken’s casting.
Christopher Walken’s Casting as the Emperor Didn’t Sit Well With Fans
Christopher Walken | Dune: Part Two
While most agree the casting for the live-action adaptation of Frank Herbart’s acclaimed novel was spot on, not everyone has seen eye to eye with Christopher Walken‘s casting as the Emperor.

In the game of “Survivor,” the goal is to outwit, outplay and outlast the competition, but sometimes real-life troubles get in the way that lead to dramatic medical evacuations. As of this writing, a whopping 19 castaways have been removed due to health emergencies — 18 men and only one woman (Kourtney Moon). Tour our photos above (or click here for direct access) to see all of the “Survivor” medevacs/medical evacuations throughout the show’s run. Which ones were the scariest to watch on TV? Which ones do you remember vividly?

Survivor is a tricky beast. Of course, watching the show will easily tell you. However, experiencing the reality TV competition is a whole different subject. Amanda Kimmel is a great example of this since she made her debut in the 16th season of the series. At that time, Survivor was a well-established brand that was consistently evolving with each season. Kimmel was able to keep up with the new rules and played a master strategy throughout Survivor: China. The contestant managed to blindside James Clement – a man who had two idols – and proceed to the final three. Unfortunately,...

It’s no surprise that when the social experiment of “Survivor” began in 2000, it would produce some of reality TV’s sexiest flings ever. When Colleen Haskell and Greg Buis began flirting on Season 1 it was a bit of a surprise to viewers, but now the terms “showmance” and “power couple” are as common as “immunity challenge” and “tribal council.” Over the course of 44 seasons and more than two decades, contestants have put aside bad breath, limbs scarred from bug bites and their saggy, dirty swimsuits in order to find each other attractive enough to, yes, fall in love. In our photo gallery above, we detail 15 of the most iconic “Survivor” showmances of all time.

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen gameplay that bad.
I realize this is very much not a Big Brother recap (thankfully), but remember in Season 13 when Lawan Exum said he was Ok with being evicted because he thought he was going to re-enter the game (?) with a superpower (?!). That was the first thing that came to mind while watching Wednesday’s Survivor as Ryan rattled on and on about his grand plan of sabotaging the immunity challenge so Coco could oust Cassidy. And in a surprise to absolutely no one in the Survivor fandom, Cassidy did not go home.

The coldness of backstabs and blindsides is what keeps many “Survivor” fans watching year after year. In a game that requires individuals to rely on each other, only to break promises to get to the end, personal betrayals are inevitable. We’ve been hooked on the backstabbing since Season 1, when Kelly Wiglesworth voted out her former ally, Sue Hawk, resulting in an epic jury speech from Sue about refusing to give her a drink of water if she sees her in the real world dying of thirst. Tour our photos above of the most devastating backstabbing moments in “Survivor” history.
See ‘Survivor 40’ advantages: Who currently has immunity idols, fire tokens in ‘Winners at War’?
Some of our favorite blindsides involved players outwitting each other and having some fun with it. One example includes James Clement in “Survivor: China” being voted out by his alliance with two hidden immunity idols in his pocket.

Since its debut in 2000, “Survivor” has went through many different changes in the spirit of keeping things fresh for its loyal audience. Case in point: secret advantages. However, as the game continues to evolve, it becomes harder and harder for fans at home to keep track of who currently holds what power. But worry not — Gold Derby has you covered. Like most long-running reality TV shows, twist and turns in the format regularly happen. On “Survivor,” which has been on CBS since 2000, the behind-the-scene masterminds often like to isolate players away from the other castaways and test their mettle. They have used the concept of “island” twists four times. The current 38th season introduces probably the most stressful option yet — “Extinction Island.” The show is intentionally hiding what is expected of players who land there. But that got us thinking about how, at least so far, you think it compares to the other “Survivor’s” other three islands — Exile, Redemption and Ghost. Below, refresh your memories about what each island involved and then vote in our poll for your favorite.

The premiere episode of Season 37 of “Survivor” started with a lot of touchy-feely moments and the usual grousing about outsized personalities, thanks to its premise of pitting so-called Davids against Goliaths. But it ended up with an unexpected and rather harrowing twist when Pat Cusack, a member of the David tribe who took charge of building their shelter, was suddenly shown to be moaning in pain and clearly injured in the final moments of the show. He somehow hurt his back when his tribe returned to their camp after they lost the immunity challenge when their boat went through choppy water caused by a rainstorm.

The “Survivor” reunion show used to be a place for castaways to air their grievances, recall their favorite moments and get emotional about their time on the island. For one hour, the players would gather in front of a live studio audience immediately following the announcement of their winner and let loose with host Jeff Probst. However, over the past few years the “Survivor” reunion show has slowly been snuffed out before our eyes.

“Survivor” fans, is Ghost Island a bust? Specifically, we’re talking about the twist itself and not the overall 36th season of CBS’s reality TV show. In fact, this season’s cast makes for great TV and we can’t wait to see how next week’s second tribe swap will shake things up. Survivor is a festival of hotness and exhaustion, much like many of my favorite Herb Ritts music videos. That means it's also inherently gay, and that means we have a job to do before the premiere of Survivor: Philippines this Wednesday: rank the nine finest hotties in the show's history. I tried to assemble a varied platter here of winners and also-rans, so forgive me if I slighted your fave. I'm sure it wasn't personal.

Physically, James Clement may be one of the strongest "Survivor" contestants ever, but he's been betrayed by his own body in two of his three seasons. After being the 10th player out in "Survivor: China" (an infamous circumstance where he took two Immunity Idols with him), James did the quick turnaround for "Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites," making it nearly as far before being forced out of the game with an infected finger (famously showing up on the Jury hitched to an IV). In "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains," James was done in by an injury to his knee. Although he...

After suffering what turned out to be a torn anterior cruciate ligament in last week's reward challenge on Survivor, James Clement seemed like a dead man walking. With four immunity-challenge losses to the Villains tribe, the last thing the Heroes needed was to keep an injured player. However, thanks to his strong alliance within the tribe, James was saved and Tom Westman was eliminated. Unfortunately, even after Colby Donaldson made a speech to the Heroes tribe about his impending exit, James was the one voted out because of his knee injury. The 32-year-old Clement spoke with TVGuide.com about Colby's lackadaisical attitude, his argument with Stephenie Lagrossa and who he thinks is the "Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of Survivor."

For Survivor's James Clement, Heroes vs. Villains meant no more Mr. Nice Guy. But the ousted Castaway told us he is just another victim of manipulative editing and unintentional "tone issues" in his speech—which, by the way, oozed with charm during our conversation. Read on for more on the misunderstood cheerleader (and his mama!)... Did you know you were going home this week? Kind of, but not really. When I figured out I really couldn't run and maybe something was really wrong with me, I kinda waived all the alliance stuff and I told 'em straight up: "I really want y'all to win [and] pull it together as a team...Don't feel obligated to vote for me just because...

Voted out after Villain Tyson Apostal on this week's Survivor double elimination, former Hero (and fan favorite?) James Clement was one again removed from the game under difficult circumstances.
In an exit interview with Entertainment Weekly James talks about how another injury impacted his early exit from the show and why he's not really as angry as the show made him out to be.
On which was the worst way to have his Survivor run end: with a double immunity idol blind side, a finger injury and now a knee injury: Probably the first time, because I had control but I just wasn’t paying attention. I loved the game of Survivor and had always watched the game of Survivor, so I kinda knew having two idols was a bad thing. The finger was just craziness — it was a precaution. And the knee thing, I was playing the game and doing the best I could.

"Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" had a double elimination this week. The Villains blindsided Tyson Apostol in a very complicated Tribal Council, but for the Heroes, the choice was more obvious because James Clement was playing injured. This morning, Et talked to James to find out how he is doing after hurting his knee during a challenge and requiring medical attention. Et: How are you doing? Can you talk about your injury? James Clement: I pulled my Acl and my meniscus. I had to get surgery right after the show, but something didn't heal right and I have to get surgery again. Et: I am sorry to hear that. Are you okay now? James Clement: I am okay, but they have to go back in there and fix something and figure out why it is not acting right. Et: Then it is probably a good thing that you went home when you did.

"Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" sent James Clement and his bum knee packing Thursday, March 25. Find out what he has to say about his tribe, his knee injury and the bullying.
Were you surprised they kept you around that extra week and sent Tom home?
No, ma'am not really ... in challenges I played my own part. You don't have to be fast and run all the time. Like in the challenge when I wore the blindfold and gave them directions. There's more ways to help than to just be physical all the time. In challenges I was going to help them win, so I just played on.
Were you surprised you got voted out when you did? Did you think Amanda would find a way to keep you around?
She kinda tried a little bit and the actual race thing showed everybody where I was and if I could handle it or not,...

After losing the "Hero Olympics" race against a backwards-running J.T., it was curtains for James Clement. The (former?) fan favorite had a controversial run on Survivor: Heroes vs Villains, getting into wars of words with Stephenie, Tom, and Colby, as well as tossing a bag at 50-year-old Randy after a challenge. Now, after being voted off due to his leg injury, James talks about why he does not owe Stephenie an apology, the reason his mom is so upset with the editing, and which of his three unceremonious Survivor exits hurts the most. Entertainment Weekly: So, how many minutes...

Maybe what Tyson Apostol did on Wednesday (March 24) night's "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" wasn't on the same level as Erik Reichenbach giving up Immunity and promptly getting voted out or James Clement getting sent home with two Idols in his pocket. Maybe. But the circumstances that led to Tyson's torch-snuffing certainly count as an epic blunder. Going into the exact math of what transpired would probably hurt my brain or yours, so let's leave it like this: A loose Villains alliance had a plan to eliminate either Parvati or Russell by splitting the votes between them. If Russell brought...

This week was a double elimination week with Villain Tyson Apostal and Hero James Clement given the boot, but "The Craziest Episode Ever" will always be remembered for Tyson's Boner.
In an exit interview with Entertainment Weekly Tyson sarcastically hopes that his blunder was the worst move in Survivor history. Below are some excerpts of his interview.
On whether his blunder was the dumbest move in Survivor history: I would hope number one. I’ve been number one in so many things, I don’t want to lose it now. Once I did it I got pretty nervous and then I was like, “I still got a good chance at this.” And then when Russell panicked and ran around in a circle and gave the idol to Parvati, I was like, “Oh my God, I cannot believe this is happening.”
What his strategy was with the flipped vote? I...

Thanks to March Madness, 'Survivor' fans got their fill a day early when a double elimination episode of 'Heroes vs. Villains' aired Wednesday and sent two players packing; Tyson Apostol became the second ousted "Villain" of the season and the hobbled "Hero," James Clement, limped in the footsteps of four before him.
In a carabiner-through-ropes challenge that had players from both tribes vying for individual immunity, Candice eked out a victory over her fellow heroes -- effectively keeping her neck off the chopping block -- and Boston Rob prevailed, yet again, for the villains.
When the two winners were pitted against each other in the same challenge for a sudden death "hot dogs and all the fixins" reward, Rob triumphed and his band of dastardly bad guys were licking their lips in anticipation of chowing on franks while watching the Heroes throw down at their Tribal Council.

"Survivor: Palau" fan favorite and winner Tom Westman didn't fare as well on "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains." A member of the "Heroes" team, which has lost four out of five Immunity Challenges this season, he was sacrificed at this week's Tribal Council. Tom was eliminated with five out of seven votes cast against him, despite the fact that James Clement had blown out his knee during the Reward Challenge and is playing the game injured. Et: You managed to stay one week longer than the tribe wanted, thanks to the Immunity Idol. Did you really have any hope this week that the tribe would vote for someone else to leave? Tom Westman: I did. I was fighting. That noose kept getting thrown around my neck and I kept slipping out of it. I hoped I was going to pull something off. I needed Jt to make that swing and come over.

Survivor host Jeff Probst has branded this week's Tribal Council decision as "silly" and "lousy". The Heroes Tribe were forced to vote out another player on last night's episode of the CBS show after losing a fourth Immunity Challenge to the Villains. Tom Westman received three votes to James Clement's two votes, despite the latter player sustaining an injured leg in the Reward Challenge. Writing in his Entertainment Weekly blog, Probst said: "Okay, straight up - as the Heroes headed into Tribal Council, how many of you thought James would be going home? Me too. It seemed like a no-brainer. "But then I reminded myself, 'Oh yeah, this is the Hero Tribe. They've made more silly decisions than Tiger Woods'. The consistently (more)...

According to Zap2it Stephanie Lagrossa who is one of the hotties that just became the 2nd person to get voted off Survivor's latest installment entitled "Survivor 20: Heroes vs. Villains," said at one point, she thought big James Clement was going to hit her. Stephanie replied with, "I saw him and it was really uncomfortable. He's just like let's forget about everything that happened and hugging me and buying Kyle a drink and Kyle's like...

In just two days, a tribe of heroic, veteran castaways will do battle with a tribe of manipulative villains on the special 20th edition of Survivor.
For weeks, we've been previewing each contestant on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, but now it's time to assess the entire field. Who stands the best chance of walking away with $1 million and a rightful claim to the title of Best Survivor Player Ever?
Place your bets according to the following odds...
Heroes:
Amanda Kimmel: 40-1. Look for her to team up with former China castmate James Clement Candice Woodcock: 200-1. “I think viewers are probably wondering, like, what I am doing here," she said. So do her tribe mates. Not good for her long term prospects. Cirie Fields: 60-1. Cirie will certainly make the merge, but there’s no way the villains will allow her to win. Colby Donaldson (pictured):...

Poor James. The dude had two hidden immunity idols in his possession and still got voted out in China. Then he watched Parvati disintegrate his fearsome foursome alliance in Micronesia while blindsiding Ozzy. Now James Clement is hoping he doesn't end up a major blockhead for the third time in Heroes vs. Villains. "I'm kind of like Charlie Brown sometimes," he told me in Samoa before the game started. "Lucy says she's gonna hold the ball and I go to kick it and then she moves it away and I fall on my butt. Hopefully this time I kick the ball and get Lucy.

Dangerous. That's the best word to describe Parvati Shallow when it comes to Survivor. The woman will slay you with a smile. In 19 seasons, I'm not sure I've seen anyone play a better social game than Parvati, and I'm not just talking about the flirting either. Obviously, we've seen her get cuddly with boys only to discard them when their services (strategic or otherwise) are no longer called for. But it's not just horny dudes that have fallen under her spell. She was also at the center of the female alliance in Micronesia, acting as a high-powered magnet for newcomers like Natalie and Alexis.

Zap2it is handicapping the contestants from "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains." The first victim of the merge? James Clement.
Disclaimer: We have studiously avoided spoilers -- instead, we are relying on the fact that we have studiously watched "Survivor" for 19 seasons.
We are now operating under the assumption that the merge happens when there are 10 Survivors left -- seven jury members and a final three. That seems pretty par for the course lately on "Survivor," though we could be wrong about that.
Anyway, we think Hero James Clement will be the first victim of the merge. According to our predictions, the tribes go into the merge tied at five members apiece. We think Russell, Sandra, Danielle, Courtney and Rob will be very aware of how physically disadvantaged they are. Sure, Russell is strong and Danielle and Rob seem like they can hold their own, but James is like a Greek God in comparison.
