As the brother of
Gallagher,
Ron Gallagher had a copycat comedy act called "Gallagher II", franchised by
Gallagher to meet the demand for appearances. Promoters would sometimes "forget" to bill him as Gallagher II or as
Ron Gallagher, though, and Ron frequently got into trouble offstage, causing bad press for his brother and the act.
Gallagher took him to court, and after a lengthy legal battle,
Ron Gallagher was no longer allowed to perform as "Gallagher II", or use any of
Gallagher's material or props.
