- Lynn Kyriss (née Howell) was born in Portland, Oregon on a cold day in late May, but moved to the beautiful North Oregon Coast at the age of 8. After her parents tracked her down, they found that they too liked the area, and decided to join her. As a child, she was very shy, and was often found in a dark corner, squinting, her nose buried in the pages of one of the many coverless remaindered books that she found in the dumpster behind the local pharmacy. In high school, she discovered a love of math and bourbon, a combination which would prove troublesome in the future. After school, a move away from the area was necessary, so it was back to Portland in an attempt to find herself. Luckily enough, she found her calling in the accounts payable office of a local gas company. It was during this exciting time that she met her husband while playing pool in a local blues bar, and they were soon married (thus the designation of 'husband'). With her experience with numbers, and his background in interior design and auto detailing, they decided that the perfect thing to do would be to move back to the beach and open a Mexican restaurant, despite the fact that they are both Caucasian and neither of them had ever worked in a restaurant. It was there, at the Left Coast Siesta, that Lynn began her foray into the wonderful world of movies. As the owner of the restaurant, she was in the position to allow the space to be used by a number of film and commercial companies, both as a shooting location and a craft-services provider.
It is unfortunate that commercials don't have credits, as this has severely limited her credits listings. But, you may have seen her work in Imaginary Crimes (1994), where the smiling, well-fed faces are the result of her burritos, and you also may recall the appearance of her "surface debris eradicator" (or broom) in the rarely aired commercial for that one Ford car. There is also a chance you may have heard her name praised for the supply of personally delivered sustenance provided to the cast and crew of a completely different advertisement, the focus of which was most likely another automobile. But it was the "family" film The Legend of Tillamook's Gold (2006) that brought Lynn her greatest recognition, with a 'Special Thanks' credit for allowing the company to film in the Left Coast Siesta restaurant for an entire day, in the middle of summer. Sadly, most of the footage of this beautifully designed interior was not used in the final cut of the film, as the scene was pared down from the six hours of film shot to about one and a half minutes. But still, this was a great day for Lynn, and her husband, and her restaurant, and the whole town. Woohoo.- IMDb Mini Biography By: capsicum
