Burnt Flowers, the new film from writer/director Michael Fausti, begins with a series of scenes swiftly moving back and forth between London’s Rose Bar in 1968, Islington in 1983 and the Islington Police Station in 1992.
The last location is where Detective Franc Alban has a visitor, Alice Kyteller. She’s there to report a missing person, her husband Austin whom she last saw eight years ago in a brothel. Why has she waited so long to report him missing? “I thought he might come back”. She can’t offer any information and hasn’t so much as asked his friends about him, but she is sure that she and Detective Alban have met before.
If all of this sounds strange, you haven’t seen anything yet. The director...

Axel Falcon, the latest film from Bazz Hancher, screened at Horror-On-Sea with Darkly Took the Light, a documentary about the difficulties and personal tragedies that surrounded the making of the film, and the toll it took on Hancher and his interest in continuing to make films – a documentary I hope eventually also gets a physical release alongside the film.
Hancher issues range from the usual problems of indie filmmaking such as cast and crew members dropping out, to people connected to the film or the filmmakers being murdered or suffering serious illness. It’s an interesting piece, and quite different from the “our film was cursed” hype video it may sound like. It’s more of...

The Foreboding is a new short film in the works, created and written by Alex Staunton-Hill with Peter Tilley joining as co-creator. Peter has also signed on as producer for the film.
It follows a group of university students who take a trip into the woods after finishing their first year and go up against an otherworldly presence. However, this isn’t your stereotypical teen horror flick.
Cast announcements will begin to roll out from September.
We are very excited to announce Kemal Yildirim has officially signed on as director, cinematographer and Editor for the film.
Kemal is well known for his work in the indie film scene, and is an award-winning independent filmmaker, which is why the team are so honoured to have him onboard and involved in this production.
Check out an exclusive interview with Kemal, which was filmed on set last month. Including a first look at behind-the-scenes footage,...

Essex Indie production company Tis Films (I Scream on the Beach!, Video Shop Tales of Terror) have launched a new Indiegogo campaign for the horror-comedy film Pie-Thon, which will be included as part of the horror anthology feature HorrorScopes Volume 2: Chinese Zodiac.
What is Pie-thon?
Pie-thon is a satirical horror from Tis Films – it revolves around a pie eating contest that goes wrong when the pies are spiked with snakes – hilarity and horror ensues. It will be part of the horror anthology feature film HorrorScopes Vol. 2.
We are looking to make Pie-thon really colourful and fun.
HorrorScopes Vol.2
Pie-thon will feature as the “Snake” segment for Mycho’s HorrorScopes Volume 2: Chinese Zodiac.
We produced the “Leo” segment for the first HorrorScopes film and Pie-thon acts as a de facto sequel to that segment.

Mask of the Devil, the third feature from director Richard Rowntree and co-writer Matthew Davies after Dogged and Nefarious, opens in 1878 somewhere in West Africa. A group of Englishmen led by Captain Ladrao (Geoff Woodman) and Colonel Voleur attack a group of tribesmen in order to steal a sacred mask and in doing so unleash something best left alone.
In the present Mary (Nicole Katherine Riddell; White Sky) is upset because her boyfriend won’t put out because God wouldn’t approve and her father treats her like a child. Deciding to get a job so she can move out she ends up working for Roosh a filmmaker of the adult variety. His current production is a Tarzan parody, and one of the props is a familiar-looking mask.
