Michelle Vicary

Michelle Vicary is the former Executive Vice President of Programming and Network Publicity for Crown Media Family Networks, charged with strategic oversight of all production and original programming for Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. She oversaw the formation of an in-house production company supervised acquisitions, programs, on-air scheduling, and talent relations, and executed promotional and publicity strategies. Based in Los Angeles, reporting directly to the President and CEO.
During her tenure, Vicary spearheaded the foray into original scripted series for prime-time, producing 78 movies in 2016 and staked out new daytime programming, attracting new viewers, subscribers, and advertisers to the network. She expanded its content footprint with holiday event programming specials and the Kitten Bowl as part of CMFN's Pet Project Adoption Initiative. Vicary produced the esteemed "Hallmark Hall of Fame" franchise and was instrumental in developing programming strategies for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries' successful movie franchises.
Previously, as Senior VP of Acquisitions and Scheduling, Vicary negotiated all acquisition deals, collaborating with original programming to increase project effectiveness and manage the networks' inventory needs. In Vicary's preceding role as VP of Program Scheduling and Administration, she oversaw on-air schedules, stunts, and quarterly strategies.
In her 22 years at Crown Media, Vicary held ascending positions as manager, director, and finally Vice President of programming and promotional scheduling. She conducted long-term movie and series planning and managed all on-air promotions.
Vicary has been honored as one of Cablefax's Most Powerful Women in Cable for 8 consecutive years (2012-2020) and was inducted into Cablefax's Program Hall of Fame (2015) as well as Multichannel News' Wonder Women (Class of 2012). She received a bachelor's degree in cinema arts from California State University, Northridge, and was recognized with the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2019.
