Chase Matthews is an award-winning actor, singer and film director and
has appeared in over 40 stage plays and musicals including Crenshaw
Family Reunion (where he was honored for his portrayal of Carl with the
Onyx Award and Media Expressions Awards for Best Actor), Sky in The
Existents, Andrew in Southern Baptist Sissies and both Gad and The
Butler in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Kodak
Theatre and in the touring production. A comedy veteran, Chase has been
able to mix humor with his explosive personality to become the host of
Nickelodeon's U Pick Nick, Warner Bros. Kid's Club and the television
pilot A.D.D.T.V. with Chase Matthews, a project which he both created
and produced. Other notable credits include guest-starring appearances
on Comedy Central's Workaholics and Spike T.V.'s 1000 Ways to Die. The
role of Tinkerbill in the upcoming animated feature When I Dream was
written for and created by Chase, and he performs with the original
cast on the film's album. Chase also stars in The Golden Boy, the
sci-fi thriller In the Closet and Anino, an official selection of the
New York International Film Festival. Rounding out Chase's film career
are roles in The Piano and the upcoming Peace Keepers. In his
directorial debut, Chase's film, From Silence to Sound, won Best
Inspirational Documentary at the New York International Film Festival.
Now available on DVD, it is the story of a deaf man who takes a chance
on a risky surgery in the hopes of hearing for the first time in his
life. Chase is about to start his 6th tour as The Phantom in Vox
Lumiere's Phantom of the Opera, a show he has toured in both nationally
and internationally.
