Aleh Neliubin
- Actor
Alec (also known as Aleh), is originally from Eastern Europe. He has traveled through Europe, Asia and the U.S. as both clown and comedic actor/performer. He now lives in Los Angeles as a film actor.
Although not from a circus family background, Alec followed his own teenage passion to be a clown all the way to Moscow where he was the first ever, non-Muscovite chosen for the prestigious clown training program. He trained at the Center of Circus Art in Moscow, Russia, studying acting, ballet, modern and various dance forms, stunt work, physical comedy and improvisation.
Alec later returned to his hometown and founded the first Clown Theatre, M-CITY. At the age of just nineteen, he served as Owner, Artistic Director, Instructor and Performer. He taught both his stage/touring clown troupe, as well as his Youth Studio students, the skills of facial characterization, physical comedy and improvisation. His stage troupe performed locally for children shows, night club acts and for city celebrations, as well as touring throughout Eastern Europe, performing in regional theatres and comedy festivals, alike.
With little opportunity for international tours and wanting to experience more of the world as a performer, Alec closed his theater after four years and began to tour Eastern Europe as a clown. He worked for three years with several stage circus companies, first, with clown partners, then as a solo act before branching out further into Europe and Asia.
For the next five years, Alec worked on seasonal contracts in Taiwan, Spain and Belgium. He began in Taiwan, working at an Amusement Park as both a clown and as a comedy judge for a female wrestling show. His next three contracts took him throughout Europe, performing at such varied locations as theatres, city streets, farms and even prisons.
Alec returned to Taiwan on another amusement park contract to work as both clown and stilt walker for the daily parades. He then returned to Spain for another three contracts as a clown, working with both the touring circus and at comedy/art festivals. Alec's last European stop, was working at the Six Flags amusement park, in Belgium, as both a stage comedian and as a costumed character.
During one of Alec's contract breaks from Spain he was asked to perform his clown photographer act on the live TV show, "Anshlag & Co." on the national RTR-TV station. Thus, he brought his clown and comic talents full circle.
During these early years as a touring clown and comedic actor, Alec never gave up the dream of one day becoming a film actor in Hollywood. In November 2005, he was given the opportunity to come to the United States. By June 2006, he gained a business partner/coordinator that he met while on tour with Circus Flora and together they entered the world of film. Within his first two months, Alec was able to fly to Hollywood for his first taste, act in a short film, sit for his first photo shoot, get his first set of head shots and wondered what lay ahead.
Having spent his first five film years in St. Louis, MO, Alec kicked off his career with local productions, as well as multiple shoots in Chicago and Atlanta, all the while while learning English. His years in improv, as a non verbal, physical performer and former theater director would prove invaluable when navigating his way on set in America, as his natural intuitiveness kicked in.
Alec moved to Los Angeles in 2012 and has been fortunate enough to work in several hit productions, including "Stranger Things 3" and "Ray Donovan"; worked with YouTube sensation, DeStorm Power on a music video; and worked in an Apple commercial, among others. He continues to study the craft of acting, while networking through the maze of social media and like many other performers, looks forward to a post-pandemic artistic resurgence!
Alec has worked in such varied genres as comedy, drama, action, thriller and silent films. He hopes to get involved with video game performance capture next. Alec enjoys every opportunity to learn from all that the world of film has to offer!
