Linda Mutawi is a film producer, based in Sweden. She has been working in the film industry for over 22 years in different capacities focusing mainly on producing, but she has also been a film commissioner and manager of a film fund. Linda moved to Sweden in 2013, where she co-founded Fikra, a Stockholm based company focused on developing and producing creative cross-cultural projects between Scandinavia and the Middle East. She also works regularly with Atmo- one of Sweden's most acclaimed production companies, where she has played an integral role in the producing team on their three most recent award-winning films; The Nile Hilton Incident (2017) in 2017 directed by Tarik Saleh, winner of the Sundance Film festival Grand Jury prize, Swoon (2019) in 2019 by Mårlind& Stein, and the most recent Palme D'or nominated feature film Cairo Conspiracy (2022) 2022 by Tarik Saleh, which is shortlisted for the Oscars 2023 in the Best Foreign Language category.
Linda is currently producing two documentary feature films, co-producing 3 international feature films, and developing fiction projects as producer and co-producer. She is also writing and preparing to direct her first short film.
Prior to moving to Sweden, Linda's roles included Head of Production Services at The Royal Film Commission of Jordan, where she was involved in many high profile Hollywood and European films. She lived in Dubai for several years before that, where she was one of the pioneers of the Dubai film industry. In 2006 she even got her chance to be in front of the camera by playing the lead role in the Australian Docu-Fiction Forbidden Lie$ (2007) based on the best-selling controversial book "Forbidden Love", which was filmed in Australia and Jordan.
Linda has participated in the Producers Guild of America Diversity Workshop in Los Angeles in 2012, and most recently graduated from the prestigious EAVE producers Workshop in 2022.
She is passionate about bringing her mutli-cultural, and multi-national identities into her work, as she believes that can bridge people and cultures into greater understanding.
