With a love of organic instrumentation combined with modern technologies, classical training, and years of live performance, Tyler Traband is one of the exciting new breed of composers writing for visual media. A multi-instrumentalist, film & TV composer, and singer/songwriter, Tyler has toured nationally, fronted a band, written countless commercials for top brands, and composed for riveting documentaries, thrillers and adventure films. Whether it's the Full Orchestra, Minimalistic Modern Preoedurals, or an R&B Combo, Tyler can write it. His credits include: "Showtime All Access"; "Shark Week" on Discovery; "The Young and the Restless" on CBS; the IMAX documentary "Chasing the Ghost Particle"; TV movies "The Trial of Antigone" and "The Parthenon Marbles" for the National Hellenic Museum; and "An American Home: Frank Lloyd Wright's B. Harley Bradley House" airing now on Amazon Prime.
Every gig is an opportunity to work with new people and to create something amazing. As a 'band guy', Tyler has always understood the value of collaboration, as well as the benefits of surrounding himself with great musicians. Trusted time and again with huge budget gigs and crazy deadlines, Tyler is at completely at home with the time pressures of scoring for TV and Film, and prides himself on being the most fun to work with. He relocated his family to Los Angeles in the spring of 2015.
Upcoming projects include "The Field" A Fight or Flight Story, a documentary about the grass-roots political intrigue involved in a community fighting to stop a planned third Chicago-area airport, and the 2023 Korean multiple language action film "Janus."
