- My intention in life is to make pictures and I will go out doing it. But I'm a throwback, I write stuff you would see in the past, I'm not writing for this market's mentality. I have every intention to make another picture.
- I don't want to be a hack. I'd rather make one good film every five or ten years rather then ten bad films in ten years.
- My films should be used as a road map to tell people how not to behave.
- If you make a good film with a good story, violence and sex can be art. I believe horror films should rip your guts out; they should be an unrelenting experience that kicks you in the stomach and never says "sorry." I hope the critics get bent out of shape and hoot and holler, but some may really like it, and that's fine too.
- I honestly believe that if you use gore you better make it hurt.
