Britney Spears was only 16 when she shot to stardom as the bubblegum-pop star in the school-girl uniform.
But any sense of solidarity or sympathy didn't seem to soften her judgment on The X Factor Thursday night, when Spears and fellow judge L.A. Reid were tasked with trimming their six-member teams, teen and older-than-25 years old competitors, respectively, into four.
Joined by rapper Will.i.am at her Malibu house, Spears kept it real. After Justin Bieber lookalike Reed Deming, 13, belted out a stripped-down version of the Plain White T's 2006 single "Hey There Delilah" – a little classic rock, when you factor in his...

"Tim [Burton] wanted an unconventional unconditional-love song," explains sometimes Yeah Yeah Yeahs leading lady Karen O, describing "Strange Love," her soundtrack contribution to his new 3D remake of early short film Frankenweenie. "My music inspiration came out of the same era of B-movie fright film references sprinkled throughout the film… I went in the direction of exotica and calypso stylistically because it's quirky, good vibes music of that era and when you throw in a theremin solo it's a marriage made in heaven. We ended up with a love song for the end of the film to the film! Frankenweenie is so special, it's an unbelievable honour to be involved with it."

Yet, there have been a couple of news bits to share, the first being the announcement Robert Zemeckis' new film Flight will have its world premiere when it serves as the closing night film at the New York Film Festival on October 14. The film stars Denzel Washington as an airline pilot who miraculously crash-lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, but after doing so questions concerning who's at fault begin to percolate. I've seen some including Flight in their Best Picture predictions as a potential contender and...

Fox All Access got lucky! Plain White T’s were nowhere near the neighborhood, but decided to stop by the studio anyway. Tom Higgenson, Dave Tirio, Mike Retondo, Tim Lopez and De’Mar Hamilton are not only talented musicians, they’re down-to-earth guys who know how to have a good time with host, Chris Leary. Their single “Rhythm of Love” is already a hit, and that comes as no surprise. Their new album comes out in October and they are psyched. Fox All Access had the honor of being serenaded by the band and we can’t wait to post up that footage for all you fans. It’s coming soon, so keep checking back. In the meantime, make sure to call our toll-free request line, 1-877-count-15, to request “Rhythm of Love”! Want to see what kind of shenanigans were going on in the studio? You can’t say we didn’t warn you…...
