- Annie Elizabeth Ryan, also credited as Annie Ryan and A. E. Ryan, is from the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. The award-winning poet, essayist, and screenwriter has written articles on inspiring public figures including actor-producer Tatanka Means and author A'Lelia Bundles for the NOVA Fortnightly newspaper.
After years in the film industry, Ms. Ryan ventured behind the camera as a writer, director, and producer. She was honored to serve as a screenplay and film judge for the DC Shorts Film Festival and IFP (Independent Film Project) in New York.
Always striving to improve her craft, Ryan has studied under Brenna McDonough, Marc Lapadula, Dr. Emil Piscitelli, Dr. Robert Brunner, Dr. Robert Henry (UVA), Kris Baxter, and various industry professionals at TVI Actors Studio (LA).
Her short and feature-length screenplays have won prizes in international contests such as the Cinema City International Film Festival and the California Film Festival. When she is not working as a submissions reader, copy editor, and book reviewer, the screenwriter-actor-director writes nonfiction, fiction, and poetry.
