Bruno Borello has worked in film and television as a writer, director, producer and cameraman. His early start was in television as an associate director/producer of a multi-camera television comedy pilot set in San Francisco, then as a cameraman on action adventure features, and as a producer of an international television sports event videotaped live in a sport arena. His focus soon turned toward writing, producing and directing narrative film and television projects.
He continued to work in television as a director of a live multi-camera television cable series. He created, produced, wrote and directed an anthology television drama series, "Teletheater Presents," for cable and PBS. He produced and directed a total of nine episodes for the series, which received several regional and national awards.
He has produced and directed several short films, including one he co-wrote and shot on 35 mm film entitled "The Bohemian," which was shown at the Chicago Film Festival and is being developed into a feature film project entitled "The Last Bohemian." His screenplays have received screenwriting awards from the Austin Film Festival and the Fresh Voices Screenplay competition.
He received a B. S. Degree from San Jose State University and an A. A. Degree from College of San Mateo. Additional training and education came from the University of California, Berkeley Extension and American Film Institute. He has taught dramatic acting for television at De Anza College in Cupertino, and other workshops in the San Francisco Bay Area. Bruno was born in Italy, is fluent in Italian, is a U.S. citizen and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.
